Essentially tribalism. We seperate into tribes and fight, arguing who's deity is the mightiest and then reveling in their victories as if the victories of our chosen deities somehow reflect something about us, and quality of life.
It's like sports, people go to sports websites to argue about the same crap we do here. It's human nature. Our teams are just consoles and companies rather than sports teams.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Uhh, hasn't anyone mentioned that microwave brands in Ukraine aren't a hobby used by millions around the world?
It's simple, you like a certain console, and you want it to succeed because you like it the most. Kind of like Apple fans.
And it's still better than all the stupid ass social networking sites littering the internet with no real topic so a bunch of teenagers slowly reveal their pent up homosexuality through the use of people's Comments section.
Phew, that post got a lot of stuff off my mind.

QFT
There's tons of games that I can't wait to get, but they all don't come out 'till fall. All I'm hoping for is Haze and MGS4. For Haze, it depends on how the reviews turn out, and for MGS4, I've never played any of the MGS games, but I thought I might look into this.
OT: I care for basically almost all the reasons everyone else has said. Plus, the forums are a great spot to get up to date news, so I don't have to search for it myself. People can also give you advice, if you are looking into a game, but aren't entirely sure about it (and it has been released), then people here can tell you how it plays, if the story is good, or whatever else you may want to know about it.
I'm somewhat now interested in hardware sales, where I really like is the software sales for the games
i care because im one of thoose people who loves statistics, i cant get enough of them, give me more, more, more, *laughs insanely*
as well as to brag about how much better the PS3 is doing than 360 lately, i love numbers becasue i love statistics! thats why i took accounting in high school.
The best of all is software sales, some of my favorite games sold very good.
| Gamerace said: Good question. I became interested because I was interested to see how well Nintendo's and Sony's gambles would pay off. They both took big risks this generation. And now, this site is just like a crack habit. I can't give it up. Plus I get pretty bored at work sometimes.... |
Same here, well the crack habit part anyway.
I came here because I was tired of all my co-workers telling me how much Sony failed with the PS3, and how I was an idiot for buying one. Funny how all of them called me stupid then, and now that sales are in the PS3's favor, they find other things to talk about.
Anyway, I came here to see sales trends, and to be able to be better informed for our office debates.
Now, most all the time I spend here posting is the same thing, combating negativity. It's amazing how many negative comments come from peoples mouths. Other then reliability issues with MS, I have no issue with any console. They are all great.
i love economics, i love games. console wars is fun for me.
