eh, it's not really that crazy. Just look at the rest of the launch lineup and it's pretty obvious why Zelda has such a high attach rate

How dare you diss 1-2 Switch!

We have been playing the Switch a decent bit at work. 1-2 Switch is defintely nothing to be proud of, luckily we rented it on Gamefly I would have been ticked off if I would have bought it. After an hour you have seen everything and most of the games are meh. Shaving.....

With that said Zelda is sweet, I think it is a bit overrated (probably my least favorite Zelda outside of Skyward Sword) with that said I love every Zelda (besides Skyward Sword lol)

How the heck did you get a WiiU with no Gamepad!??

And Sony TVs only allow you to use Sony headphones. Your only option is to get Sony headphones, use the "audio out" to connect to a device that allows headphones (home theater. Amp).

I'm guessing many of the extra Zelda copies are people buying the game ahead of buying the console (which is hard to acquire).

That makes sense to me.  My wife had pre-ordered the Switch for me, but not Breath of the Wild.  So when it arrived on launch day, I drove to Toys R Us to pick-up a copy.  The game case wall full of copies of Breath of the Wild, but there were people in the store asking for the Switch which as sold out.  It wouldn't surprise if a proportion of them bought games in advance of being able to get a hold of the hardware.

Looks like people were buying BotW preemptively, waiting on Switch stocks to double up in the next coming weeks. That is pretty damn amazing, well deserved. I'm hoping to get a chance to play BotW myself some day.

So, Zelda moved consoles. Unlike 3D World and Tropical Freeze. I may create a thread about it.

3D World wasn't a launch game, though. And DK hasn't been a system seller since....SNES?

Splatoon wasn't neither a launch title and moved consoles.

Oh, and about DK, tell that to those that defend the decision of Retro for choosing DK over anything else.

3D World moved consoles, the week it launched Wii U sales increased 61% in USA, and 36% in Japan.

DK is not major seller anymore, people who think it should be top priority are delusional. Pokemon, Mario Kart, 2D/3D Mario, Animal Crossing and Zelda are much bigger.

During holidays boost. Splatoon did a lot more during the year. In fact, I think WW numbers for both are close.
