Zelda has above 100% attach rate, lol (some people bought two copies because of the LE). 925k sold on 906k systems. Boom.
That tells you what's driving the system adoption.

it doesn't say that is the worldwide figure in the article, it's all US only
it attributes the attach rate neing over 100% to collectors

They're not though... NPD is all about US only right? Plus Worldwide figures for Switch version where over a million worldwide in it's first week alone.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game sold over 1.3 million units*. That total includes more than 925,000 units sold for Nintendo Switch and nearly 460,000 units sold for the Wii U console. That means that Nintendo sold more of this game for Nintendo Switch than it sold Nintendo Switch systems, for an attach rate of more than 100 percent. This may be attributed to people who purchased both a limited edition of the game to collect and a second version to play."
lol wtf Zelda.
I had given up for anything coming out today, but I'm gonna update OP now!
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Wii U sold 890k in November+December, Switch outsold it on March. Amazing. Looks like VGChartz has everything under tracked a bit.
Nintendo needs to consider strongly having more open-world action/adventure games on that scope IMO.
One Zelda every five years is not a good way to capitalize on the audience they've got now.
Gotta keep it rolling now.
This should also be a good sign to third parties that Switch is it's own thing and neither Wii or Wii U.
You can make games for this thing, and they don't have to be dumb Wii Sports knock-offs. Zelda is what is driving this thing, so if you have IP like that, bring it.
The whole appeal here is being able to play those big scale console games anywhere, anytime. That's what's making Switch click.
Konami could've done well if they had a MGSV port available for the launch window with little competetion, a missed oppurtunity there.

They have Skyrim coming. BotW actually convinced me on getting that game, I wanna try more fantasy open world games. I will, of course, get it on the Switch.

Xenoblade too ... my concern though is what happens next year and the year after that. You need to keep having these style of games coming because that's what makes the Switch unique. It's not HD rumble. It's the simple fact that you can enjoy these really epic style of games anywhere.
That's what is making people go "holy shit, that's cool" about Switch.
PSP/Vita even really didn't do it because they'd always get spin-off or "bite size" versions of the "real" console counterparts. Zelda: BotW is really the first time a "big" GOTY type contender has been available for console/portable at the same time and it's the same game.
