Why would Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo typically launch their new consoles in November if there wasn't a sales benefit? Why not launch consoles in March all the time?

Why would someone buy the Switch at its first month if they didn't like Zelda and had "no choice but to buy zelda"?
Isn't it better to wait until a game they like releases, and hopes they find a bundle for it or the switch being cheaper? |
I got the ps4 at lauch even though I was interested in the future lineup. Due to that, I grabbed the best game I thought it had at lauch even if I didnt buy it for that game. Early adopters just cant resist to wait.
Bump. Software charts should be released in 10 mins!
Edit: ok, gonna trust the gaf thread. It's actually in 20 mins! I don't understand NPD these days.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Horizon over Zeruda! They are top 2 best selling games! Is what i think lol

*** denotes lack of digital sales in ranking
Ghost Recon Wildlands had the best Ghost Recon debut ever and was the 2nd best debut of any Tom Clancy title ever behind The Division. 1-2 Switch has an attach rate of 19%, which would put it at ~172k copies sold (excluding digital sales). Mass Effect Andromeda's debut was bigger than the 1st and 2nd Mass Effect games, but smaller than Mass Effect 3's launch. Horizon Zero Dawn was Guerrilla Games' biggest debut ever, selling twice as much as its next best title, Killzone Shadow Fall.
Also, from now on Microsoft's digital numbers will be included in the rankings.
"Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Wildlands secured the top position with the "best launch of any Ghost Recon title; and, after Tom Clancy's The Division, it was the second best launch of any Tom Clancy game."
Wildlands did really well.

Huh. I've only heard bad things about it.
Then again, it was Zero Punctuation...
According to NPD
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Amiibo 1 Character Pack accounted for 43% of total Interactive Gaming Toy spending

But the total spend on Interactive Gaming Toys was down 38% YoY as Disney left, Skylanders is on a break and Nintendo/Lego struggle.

Nier did pretty well for what it is, MLB did well.
Top four as expected. I wonder about the gap between Horizon and Mass Effect and whether the digital sales for the former could have made a difference.

Ghost Recon launched on consoles with over 30ml users combined and Zelda launched on consoles with less than 7m users combined. So it make sense that it sold more than Zelda.
