According to myself and those I know who have played both games. I've played both Bayonetta 1 and 2 to completion. *shrug* I can't think of a single aspect that makes it better outside of the graphical increases. |
I can for a start the weapon sets actually actually have strategic roles to them unlike some of the overlapping sets in the original leading to more variety and styles in approach to combat, the mechanics are properly balanced in B2 unlike B1 where in the former the system is overarching where you master the fundamentals and then bend the system to not only your style of play but to the situation you're facing. This meant that the player had to experiment more with their sets unlike in the first game where it wasn't balanced properly resulting in players sticking to one set of weapons for every occasion. Extra mechanical refinements in B2 also allow for new layers of tech for example the change to the Umbran Spear move allows players to offset attacks using it which allows the player to buffer attacks or combos even though they're teleporting. Enemies, Bosses, Ai etc... are all superior but that's expected.

It's like criticizing a sci-fi game for being sci-fi. Personally, I have a really hard time trusting Platinum games. I want to like Automata (since the subject matter does not come from Platinum) but they have a history of poor games built around good combat. I disliked pretty much everything about Bayonetta except the actual combat mechanics. It's a game I will probably buy when it's cheap. |

Pretty hard to do anything successfully original in a genre as thoroughly explored as zombies, either. Good writing is more important than novelty.

I don't think Nier Automata is Platinum best game. Bayonetta is better in my opinion.

Uncharted plots are above most in the industry. It's one of the reasons why naughty dog is one of the top ten most influential debate for sure |
They are not. Uncharted plots are directly ripped off from Hollywood films and hence have no originality and so fail to grasp the attention of anyone who does watch movies. I could count so many games with better plots than Uncharted:
God of War series
Red Dead Redemption
Batman Arkham games
GTA San Andreas, IV and EFLC
Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 3, 4, Rogue and Syndicate
Horizon Zero Dawn
Nier Automata
The Witcher 3

Hack and slash games should be played with a controller. They are not suitable for keyboard and mouse and that's why I played it on PS4.

I haven't played them so can't say.
Bayo 2 says HELLO
And it is a very good game, but is not even close to be the best of generation.

As I've explained earlier, Nier Automata is better than Bayonetta 2.

Haven't yet had the chance to play it, but I've been waiting for the game since the moment it was announced. I was already a fan of Yoko Taro's games from his Drakengard and Nier days thanks to their stories and characters, and adding Platinum making the gameplay just made it even more interesting for me, since that's usually been the weak point in his games.

I have a GTX 1080 Ti paired with Ryzen 7 1800x.... I am -never- playing a multiplatform on console. Controllers work on PC anyway. However, I don't have problems at all playing the game with mouse and keyboard. The problem is the active glitch getting in the way of me playing properly.
All that said, regardless of whatever is on PC, Horizon is pretty great. I should probably get around to playing it on PS4 to see what the differences are from playing it on Pro.. But, it's just something I haven't gotten around to.
Automata is the Evangelion of videogames although i think The Witcher 3 still has the title of "best game of this generation".
