I guess my question should have been "Will there be another designated handheld, like 3DS, how that the Switch is out?" My buddy thinks they absolutely will make a new designated handheld. Me, I have no clue. It really depends. I will say, I don't know about you all but I don't want my kids taking the switch off the dock and using it. They've already broken 3 of my controllers (and my kids are pretty good kids).

I think in late 2018/early 2019 we will see a portable only revision of Switch

Switch Lite-5" 720p screen, built in controls, 4-8hr battery life, $199.99

the whole point of Switch is to unify their handheld & console software output and userbase. releasing a seperate handheld defeats this purpose.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

That will depend on if switch really takes off.  When the other heavy hitters come I see the switch doing big numbers, so they will not bring a dedicated handheld.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

For me, it was surprising that Nintendo did not bring any of their handheld IPs to the Switch. Obviously, it is still early and that could still be their game plan.  I, personally, was mostly disappointed when the Fire Emblem game coming to the switch was Warriors style game.

Edit: apparently I somehow missed the annoucement of a mainline Fire Emblem game for Switch.

What do you think they mean why they say unified games library?

Its the intire purpose of the hybrid, to try and please both groups.

Ofc its gonna happend, its quite simply NOT acceptable for nintendo not to do so.

They will for sure.

Eh...my bad....how the heck did I miss that. Although, Fire Emblem has already been on home consoles. What about other handheld IPs.

What other? All successful 3DS games were also on console at some point.

Did your buddy not pay attention when Nintendo combined their handheld and home console efforts into one? And when they announced the Nintendo Switch in general? Nintendo may say they are focusing on the Switch as their home console, but it also effectively replaces their handhelds. Literally hence the name, "Switch."

Of course they will, is sort of the whole point of the Switch.. by combining both libraries together

Yeah, Fire Emblem is totally a handheld franchise

Makes sense.

Isn't that kinda like calling the Crash Bandicoot remastered collection a "third party multiplatform series becoming platform exclusive"? (assuming it only gets put out on PS4)

No reason not to do so.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Nintendo won't make the WiiU mistake again. This time they will aim and fire all their cannons... just don't think they will all come in the next year, they will carefully and strategically time releases so the console sales keep a healthy pace during the next 3 or 4 years at least.
