Forums - Nintendo - Zelda BOTW has the most perfect scores on Metacritic.

So I don't know anything about perfect scores, but Breath of the Wild has made my husband, who always teased me for being a Zelda fan, a fan of the series...
So much so, that he's talking about getting at least two Zelda-inspired tattoos...
There may be a lot of new Zelda fans in the near future...
If he's going to go back and play the classics, where do you suppose he should start???

Have a nice day...

Two wrongs don't make a right.

The point is publications don't always care too much about performance.

And my point is that it should at least have some factor.

Well apparently it doesn't and it hasn't for some time.

"It’s not all perfect though. In fact there’s an awful lot wrong with the game, but most of it is incidental in comparison to that which is so right."

"On the PlayStation 4, The Witcher 3 runs at 30 frames-per-second, and while the framerate does drop from time to time when there’s a lot going on, this becomes less and less noticeable as time goes on, and this is a statement is coming from a bona fide framerate elitist. The Witcher 3 is such an incredibly immersive experience that its technical issues and open-world jank feel less important than they would in a game of lesser quality."

Start anywhere, really. The timeline is not too important as far as I'm concerned. You should give him a heads-up though as Zelda games are, at times, radically different from one another.

Awesome. It's amazing how you still don't understand that I have already acknowledged that sometimes game critics give 10/10 scores for games with technical problems. I still do not believe they should be doing that. I didn't like it when they did it with the Witcher 3. I didn't like it when they did it with Shadow of the Colossus, and I still do not like it when they're now doing it with Zelda.

My apologies, I misunderstood you. I simply wanted to point out that technical issues don't always get a game docked points. I see this often with huge games like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas or Elder Scrolls Oblivion where there are technical issues but the game does so many things right that it's easy to look past the negatives and hand out the highest recommendation i.e. a perfect score.

As a matter of fact, I don't think a game with a perfect score should be interpreted as a perfect game. There's no such thing as a perfect game (except maybe Resident Evil 4... maybe) but I do feel there are games out there that can be recommended to the greatest degree hence perfect scores.

The series timeline is irrelevant since each Zelda game has its own generation of characters. Thus I say pick out your favorites for him! My favorite Zelda games before Breath of the Wild have been The Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks.

3 new perfect scores, which adds to a total of 48. Getting there!

Just curious but I am almost positive that TLOU should be up there right? It definitely got more than 7 perfect scores on PS3. I know for a fact that it is over 40  or was there some other metric for this chart. And UC2 had like what 40? No less that 30 or 35 I am sure. .......Never mind I see it....top 20 highest rated games or fall time

He only looked at games that score 97 or above.
TLOU had 42 perfect scores.

Nah all those games didn't score at 97 it was literally the top 20 lol. I was lost for a while trying to figure it out lol.

If I get time, I'll make a second chart that is most perfect scores regardless of final average.

No need to go through that trouble! I was just wondering how the list was compiled only because I had remembered TLOU had got so many perfect scores. But I had figured it out lol.

Half-Life 2 is only one there that wasn't 97 or above, but as it was the closest to it I thought he picked it by mistake.

Anyway, TLOU has the 3rd biggest amount of perfect scores tied with Galaxy 2, Uncharted 2 had 39, btw, which make it the 5th.

Ahhhh okay well that make sense with Half-life And okay I knew TLOU had quite a few so tied for 3rd is no small feat and UC2 at 5th....both in the same gen....not bad ND. And of course NIN holding it down int he top 5 as well!
