Which Link amiibo did you use? I only have Wolf Link and Toon Link (Smash) for now, but I plan on picking up 8-bit Link and OoT Link sometime soon.

Puzzle tune is still there, game feels very much like a zelda game, however i really miss the role button, also I got a green tunic very early on, not links signature green tunic, but was close.

I don't mind the weapon breaking, after all the game showers you with new weapons. I don't understand though why they made the material inventory infinite but the weapon inventory tinyas fuck. Especially since the weapons break so often. it would be better to have ample supply without constantly micro managing.

You can increase your weapon supply; though I wish weapons lasted longer.

Never ever? I've been hanging on to a near broken 45 dmg club which took a lot of effort to get right after leaving the great plateau and stumbling into a seemingly impossible camp. I guess i can free up that slot, with keeping tools on hand (big leaf, sledgehammer, axe) I only have 3 slots left for weapons to use.

I'm glad the chest animations are short as I always have to open chests twice, inventory full lol.

Anyway the game is so good. My 7 year old went the opposite direction after leaving the great plateau and our 2 games couldn't be more different. I love all the different ways you can tackle fights. Blow them off ledges, sneak attacks, chase in an animal for distraction, use environemtal hazards, fire, explosions. And it all still feels very much like Zelda. Enemies are little puzzles to solve instead of overpowering them by leveling up. Ofcourse some do need better weapons or you'll be chipping away at that health bar for a long time and breaking all your weapons in the process. Normal enemies, even though do they can 1 hit kill me, can all be 'solved' if you're careful enough. Be really careful with those hyper angry lizard people :)

So perhaps does limited weapon slots do make the game better, as you'll be looking at different and more efficient ways to kill enemies to spare your weapons. With a whole array of durable weapons at hand I would not have experimented as much with different ways to tackle groups of enemies.

If you had an unlimited amount of inventory for weapons, then you will quickly stack dozens of weapons (some of them useless) and there will be almost no incentive to pick of weapons later on because "I already have enough". The micro management will be a lot more annoying.

Plus, it will be frustrating to switch weapons quickly with so many at your disposal.

That argument doesn't really make any sense. You are already disincetivised to pick up every weapon because the more you progress the less useful weaker weapons become. No matter how big your inventory, you will always pick the best weapons for the situation. But it sucks when you have stocked up on good weapons that you have to lose them because you had to fight some weak creatures in between. That's why you have to constantly micromanage so you have a weapon for each situation. That is just not fun. I can't even affort to always carry around utility weapons like the leaf and the woodcutter's axe because they take up 2 of the precious weapon slots.

A big inventory isn't a problem. You could have like 4 slots for active weapons that you can switch out in your inventory.

Another thing is chests. How often it happens that the chest just closes again just because your inventory is full. Then you have to drop some shit and go through the animation all over again. The game is actively punishing you for trying to be efficient with your limited slots.

His argument is perfectly fine because he's explaining basic resource manangement, pick and choose your fights carefully if you're losing your best weapons to weaker enemies that's all part of the experience. Your argument is actually the one not making sense because would you be carrying around utility weapons you don't need in the mean time? Utility weapons are always found in specific places and villages when needed, the item management is fine.

Point is I don't see any downside to a bigger inventory. The small one feels unnecessarily restricting. If they really want you to start hardcore resource managing they might as well make the material and cooking inventories small as well. Why are you allowed to hoard healing items but not weapons when the game gives you an equally abundant amount of both. And you need weapons a lot more than healing.

How is it not immersive finding a wood cutter's axe at a lodge or farming gear at villages with farms? That's very immersive in fact, it's very consistent unless you're the type of player who wants to horde everything from the start and tries fighting every enemy with out any thought for your current resources.

The's plenty of downside in a bigger inventory as a smaller one forces you to respect your current situation instead of playing in a foolhardy manner or try to exploit hording weapons. You're on an adventure so you have manage what you have carefully to survive it, that's part of the experience.
