I had an epic adventure scaling the Garudo mountains. I went through almost a page of frost resistance food before I ran out and had to make an exit, leaving the last peak behind.

The snow rock monsters are possible to defeat, I had one down to a sliver of health before he got his one shot kill in grr. Perhaps for the better as it took all 27 of my fire arrows, broke my bow, used more normal arrows and over half an hour of carefully positioning around an outcrop waiting for the right moment to get 1 arrow off at a time. I have nothing to withstand his cold attacks and touching him with a weapon is instant death. This game is harder then Dark Souls, I certainly die a lot more. (Still in starter gear with 3 hearts though, should really find a town or something)

I found a shrine with a minor test of strength, epic fight lol. Luckily there were pillars to give some protection. Found some really tall enemies which seem to be the cause of some slowdown. Each time I take one on the game starts struggling really hard, extreme slowdown to severe freezes while fighting. The game did crash on me once last night yet that was somewhere else. Error code, please restart console :/

Saw a Centaur with a tripple shot bow and a bunch of magic attacks. I was running out of frost resistance food so no time for a long battle with that. It killed me 1 shot anyway as almost everything else up there. Plenty of treasure chests lying around there and some treasure imps or whatever you call them. Worth exploring up there.

Then finally I ran into a shrine with a major test of strength. That was the biggest adrenaline rush since Everquest. 1 hit deaths as usual yet with my lvl 45 shield it 'only' took 2.75 hearts if only hit once, so by cancelling my 45 dmg 2-hander directly after a hit to get the shield back up I could sorta survive. As long as avoiding all the laser and spinning attacks. (Very fast mad robot)
It still broke both my good shields (none left after that to make it even harder), broke 3 weapons, broke my high level bow, used up all my saved up shock arrows (20) and another 20 normal arrows. But I survived! It dropped a dmg 60 Guardian sword++ and equivalent high level shield and spear. Now hopefully it won't break after 3 fights :/ Amazing fight.

Then I had to run off the mountain, no more cold resistance food, food stock running low, too cold up there to survive. Btw I have a bunch of orbs from completing shrines, how do you get more hearts etc? I'm playing without using fast travel so I hope I don't have to go back to the great plateau as I wouldn't know how...

Ok, got my sword, no more frost resistance, now what...

It is very cool how you are playing the game without fast travel. I like how fast travel is handled in this game (you are still forced to walk to most places.) But I could only imagine how much fun it is to play it without fast travel. Unfortunately I can't resist it while it is there.

Anyway, to get heart and stamina increases, you pray at goddess statues. They are located in most - if not all towns - as well as the temple of time in the Great Plateau. I don't think you can get back to the plateau without fast travelling, but I might be wrong.

How many horses have people caught, I've literally stuck with the first one I've caught, the other I got through an Amiibo. It doesn't even have spectacular stats but having caught and trained it it feels like a companion now especially having survived two Guardian encounters.

I have been wondering around doing the towers and the shrines. Ran into Varrion, I mean the Shirak (spelling) prince of the Zora. My god what a .... unique individual.

Ah cool, just need to get into a town then. I was at one in the Gerudo desert yet they wouldn't let me in. I was about to do the quest to get in but got sidetracked by that big mountain range daring me to scale it. 4 hours later I'm escaping the cold down the other side into unknown territory. It will be a while until I get back to Gerudo desert, another town will have to do.

I love exploring and this game is so rewarding for it. I chose the stamina upgrade when leaving the great plateau and it has come in very handy as well as the stamina restoring food I made while there. Finding the right spot to make it to the next ridge with only a sliver of stamina left, fun. These mountains are really high, then fly to the next peak :)

Did anyone go to Mount Lanayru at the summit ?? I probably had my first holy shit moment in the whole game with what I saw and did !!

This game really does thing on a whole other scale xD

I did not go to the summit, but I intentionally went there for the memory after I got directions to it from a guy in Kakariko after completing a side quest for him. I only found one other memoriy besides the main quest ones.

I don't know how many hours I've played exactly (game been on idle a few times), but I'd say a good solid 30 hours at least. And I'm barely just scratching the surface. I only did one main dungeon (Zora) because I keep getting sidetracked by all the content that keep opening up all the time! It's amazing! As my friend Truck said, "I want to stay in Hyrule forever", and from the way things have been for me with it, the game's length may be the next best thing.

I haven't enjoyed a Zelda game as much as this since A Link to the Past, the title I consider to be the best in the series. But from what I've played so far, Breath of the Wild may have a shot at taking its title.

Wait...You didn't use your orbs on the Great Plateau? xD

You pray at the statues of the goddess.  4 orbs are exchanged for either a heart container or a stamina extension.

As for the plateau, you can get up it if on certain areas along the north or south face of the plateau's cliffs.  But any statue of the godess will do.  Towns have them and the plateau has one and there are some others scattered around.

Soooooo I've taken quite the peculiar route, I've completed anythig related to the Zoras, meanwhile I haven't seen much about any other tribe and I keep dying when I try to explore new areas. That beeing said I visited the (supposed) location of the Triforce of Wisdom as well as finding the Master Sword

Edit: also I have A LOT of problems with Lynels, I found 3 of them, I can't kill them, they have too many HP and are extremely strong too !

The Lynels (the centaurs) are very powerful indeed. Ran into one, after the ruins of the Lanayru Walkway, while I needlessly wandered in uncharted areas. There it was, it was night-time, his two yellow eyes just staring at me from afar, not making a move. Creepy actually. When I got closer the thing just unleashed all hell with fireballs, lightning arrows, quick charges and his double axe. I really had to run for dear life.

They're supposed to be this powerful though, they're like that in the original game and A Link to the Past as well. It is cool to finally see them in a 3D game!

22 hours in now, but I'm basically still as far as I was when I mentioned I was 15 hours in. Just been goofing around Hateno and Kakariko all this time. Did some Shrines along the coast there, which were difficult, and sailed all the way to that island in the distance only to be struck by lightning.

I ended up with the Rito last night, killed a very cool mini boss along the way and naturally climbed all the way to the top of the Rito village. I got 3 stamina upgrades now, still 3 hearts. Most things hit so hard I rather have the ability to run plus I love climbing. Jumping up slopes with the extra stamina makes that a lot faster too.

Instead of doing the story quest there I got distracted by mount Hebra, had to climb that first. One minor kink in the game for me, the tougher to reach shrines get repetitive unfortunately. Test of strength was fun the first 2 times, ok the third time, 4th time having to fight the exact same robot it becomes just a waste of time and resources. You get great weapons from it yet when I used them against the mini boss they still don't even last half the battle. Plus I don't have the arrows on me to complete it again this time, have to leave it, which is kinda painful not using fast travel when it's a shrine way up hidden in the mountains.

The shrine quests are a lot of fun though, finding it was very rewarding already.

Edit: Managed to defeat it anyway with the few arrows I had. There's a way around it without using any arrows too, yet with attack enhancement food I made it last to do it the easier way. Never give up :)
