You can finish the story pretty fast. No need to put tons of hours.

My guess is something I have stuck on my head: the Great Plateau. The first area is exciting. Isolated. New mechanics. Like the traditional Zelda. But once you left, there are no more new runes, or great discoveries. No traditional Zelda feel.

On top of that, the game start to become predictable as you progress.

Personally I love the no traditional feel. Nothing will ever come close to Wind Waker to me, so Im glad they tried something different. BOTW is my second favborite Zelda game though. If the next one combines BOTW with WW, then my dream game would be a reality

What parts of WW would you like to merge with the new formula?

I'd hope not, the person would be really bad at reviewing games if that's the case lol. The new Zelda is built like a WRPG IMO, just like the new Xeno series.

He did these comparisons:

- If he wants to experience a deep and unique world he would rather play The Elder Scrolls

- If he wanted to play a game with really good characters he'd rather play The Witcher

- If he wanted to play a game with a good amount of difficulty he'd rather play Dark Souls

I don't think Google Translate would translate that bit of text correct from Norwegian to English, which might give it another meaning that it actually had.

If a person is forced to combine different highly rated games to justify giving a low score on an actual good game then I think BotW did it's job just fine then lol.

But funny seeing the one guy say in his review how the later part of the game, or after 20+ hours the games areas are boring. Umm, you decide where to go. THe game never forces you to go anywhere, well beyond getting the paraglider and if you want to beat the game, Hyrule castle. Otherwise, the "boring" areas could have been the last place you went ot or the first, or you never have to go to them.

I think there is some justification in the "latter half is boring" argument, because of two reasons:

 - Open world loses most of its feeling of mystery and wonder once you unlock the full map.
 - Combat becomes more of a nuisance once you acquire powerful gear/weapons and are no longer at a disadvantage against enemies.

Still, reading this makes it seem like the guy didn't even finish the main story, which if he truly didn't, automatically means it's not a valid opinion.

Well, he finished it. He says so in the first sentence of the review. He also added that he spent around 50 hours with it.

Having a boat and explore a big ocean. With the freedom of BOTW and having huge and smaller islands to explore would be amazing.

He does say that he finished it :)

In the first sentence of the review even XD

If he did finish it. I guess he probably skipped through a lot xD

How is that possible if you spend 50 hours with a game though?

If someone needs to compare a game, they are doing a bad job at "reviewing" it.

Trust me. You can miss alot in this game. Ive beaten it and have like 50-60 Shrines left and have barely done any side quests. I just got to an Island where they take away all your stuff and well I wont spoil it

TBF, I doubt the game contains a moment that makes the whole world new again like the first time you get a skell in XCX. And while I consider BOTW to be the first open world game where exploring doesn't get boring after a couple of hours, but not everyone is going to feel that way.

There is so much to do though lol, I was just running around the NW edge of the map yesterday and found things along the way and saw some really interesting stuff that I won't name hehe.
