Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Switch doesn't have a "Triangle" button

When I'm comparing a system, I compare it first with the previous one made by the same manufacturer.

And sorry, but besides being a handheld, the Switch brings nothing new in comparison with the WiiU.

I do understand what you are saying but criticism can still be valid and constructive for a company as a whole. I will buy a Switch, but thus far the system seller is only arriving in the form of Super Mario Universe at the end of the year. Until that point I still hope Nintendo will fix some of the issues the Switch has.

Yes, some of the criticism might be pointless but there are plenty of things we can look at and agree that was done horribly: the chat system, the lack of options in the OS and until now the bare-bones payed online.

No argument. But it seems a lot of us are going above and beyond to complain about features it doesn't have. It's a free country/website etc. People can say what they want. It's okay. Generally speaking, just don't be a hypocrite about it. Don't get mad when your console of choice gets called out.

That is weird. And PS4 does have one... could this be a hint that Zelda will only be a timed exclusive?

We gamers have a track record of taking anything one console has that another doesn't and making a big deal out of it. PS3 has no cross game chat? BOOOO! Sometimes it's legit but most of the time, it is a non issue. It's just bragging rights. Remember, there as a time when PS4 and WiiU had headphone jacks and Xbox One didn't. There was (technically, there still is until the next update) a time when WiiU and Xbox One had external HDD support and PS4 didn't.

Stones and glass houses.

And the PC simply just has everything.

That could be said about PS4 and XB1, too. Right? Hell, at launch, those two lost several last gen features as well. Some still aren't on the current gen models. Hasn't stopped my enjoyment in the slightest.

And no need to apologise. It's just video games.

These topics are indeed annoying. Where are the following threads:

- PS4/X1 controllers don't have HD rumble.
- PS4/X1 controllers don't have a motion IR camera.
- PS4/X1 controllers don't have an NFC chip.
- PS4/X1 can't be played on the go.
- PS4/X1 don't have touch screens.
- PS4/X1 don't come with two controllers right out of the box.
- PS4/X1 don't have detachable controllers.

People need to accept that the Switch is a different console.

We had hundreds of useless Switch's rumors threads about any little bit of supposed feature or software of the Switch for months, if not years. Even if there was an official "Switch rumors" thread, nobody used it and when some of us complained about the forums being infested with out of control rumor threads, the answer we got was "deal with it, and don't read the threads if you can't".

So right now, my answer to people complaining about threads complaining about the Switch is the same one.

Let people express their grievances

Okay.

But only if they are actually open minded about buying one. If they aren't even interested (or aren't even on the fence about buying one) in buying a Switch and make a "I'm disappointed because Switch _____" thread, they must be labeled assholes.

Well if those threads did exist it would have been in 2013, not 2017. Secondly Its all down to expectations. People don't expect  or particularly want PS4 to have a controller in the screen but many do expect the Switch Pro controller to have a headphone jack. A universal application applicable to all games and something very cheaply implemented.

The Switch is a console about to launch in a month, it should be very much expected that people are putting it under scrutiny and those fully happy with whats on offer shouldn't let it get to them when a feature is criticised for its absense.
