Forums - Nintendo - Tabata: Nope To FFXV On Switch; Would Like To See Android Apps On Switch

Nintendo fans are the little monster of videogame world, always bashing anyone that dare to say anything about Nintendo or their consoles and unable to see any failure in anything Nintendo does.

Or in this case any game that doesn`t come to Switch " It was shit, Nintendo don`t need that, NINTENDO IP`S ARE THE ONLY THING THE MATTARRRR" kind of attitude.

If Wii U proved anything is that 3rd party does matter for a console.

Please, go read my post and stop generalizing Nintendo fans. Thanks

Meh. Not saying the game is bad or anything, but I don't think it would sell very well anyway. The important stuff is Dragon Quest, they need to keep the Dragon Quest boat afloat. And creative/exclusive new JRPGs like The World Ends With You and Bravely Default. That's what I'm expecting and that's what I want to see.

I'm more interested in getting Doom 2016 on the Switch. Probably won't happen but would definitely pick it up if so.

Nintendo fans would buy this though... FF started on Nintendo after all. They'd buy it over CoD and Mass Effect, I'm sure. It just fits Nintendo's demographic more.

what Ninty fans? There hasnt been a main FF game since SNES that was 1994. That was 23 years. ago. So anyone who really cares at this point has either moved on or been buying PSs to play those games this entire time. Hell 23 years. That means that means their have been more main FF games released on SOny systems than Nintendo, more than twice the amout. Doesnt matter where it started FF and Sony are symbiotic at this point, moreso than it was ever with Nintendo

Of course FF is more associated withi Sony NOW. All I'm saying is the same Nintendo fans that buy Bravely Default, Shin Megami Tensei, Monster Hunter, Xenoblade etc. would gladly buy a game like this. It'd sell better than it did on Xbox One, that I'm also sure of. Most Nintendo fans I know like JRPGS which is also why most Nintendo fans I know have a Nintendo console (handheld or/and  home) and a Playstation console (handheld and/or home). If it doesn't matter where the platform started, in this case FFVII for Sony, then by your same logic it wouldn't matter that it's on Xbox, which 500K+ units seems to matter just a bit.

Yeah, one big country for the gaming market. Why do you keep talking about breaking even anyway? Do you know how investments work? Why settle for a tiny profit when you can make billions instead?

Take a look at all the mainline Pokémon games that got released since FF XIII... Take a look at all the Monster Hunter games... Take a look at all the Yokai Watch games... And it's not like Square is against milking games because they keep shoving silly remasters, remakes and spin-offs down our throats.

Nah, I actually find it funny how poor at business Japanese game developers are. They love shooting themselves in the foot.

Actually i'd say you would be better off talking to Alkibiádēs first. The generalization and cliches - come from people like him.

The "who cares" or "it wouldn't sell well" and the "we don't want that" are the number one problems for people AGAINST being generalized. If the people pulling that stuff were called out on it and stopped - then the people making jokes like that would have no basis in reality.

edit: That said I do think the comment is quite over theline;. It is fairly aggressive and unneeded.

I never said any of that. I said Square is shooting themselves in the foot by neglecting a major market. For the record, I don't care about FF XV not coming to Switch, it's that he doesn't even want to think about future projects for the Switch that comes off as incredibly stupid to me. The next mainline FF on Switch + PS4 would sell a lot more than a FF on PS4/X1.

A lot of their games take forever to make and their sales aren't that great to justify such long development cycles or big budgets. Take a look at how good Level-5 is doing. They understand that the market has shifted to mobile and handheld.

I was just about to say that. It's getting pretty annoying, not necessarily from invetedlotus123 but in general, seeing these sweeping generalizations while there's actually plenty of "Nintendo fans" (if you really want to categorize people) here being pretty critical. Myself among them.

We`re going to have an idea how it will work now with DQ XI being on both PS4, Switch and 3DS. And as a Final Fantasy fans, I think it`s a bad idea to do so. FF fans do care about cutting edge visuals, if they think Switch somehow level down what that could have been whitout this version is a shoot on the foot. Look what happend with FF XIII and X360, people complaining that the game was butchered for the 360 were everywhere.

And as I said before in another thread, the best approach for third party on Switch is to make custom experiences for it like they do with 3DS and did with Wii. It`s the best way to please the consumer and to respect the games by not extremely editing them to fit Switch limitations

The problem is that everytime a developer says they are not bringing they`re game to the platform the threads are filled with this kind of comment. Or even when someone says something like, Switch is underpowered, there are an outrage of people saying that graphics doesn`t matter and we should focus on gameplay and that this will for better graphics is destroying the industry and then it goes downhill from there.

DQ XI looks much better than FF XV to me.

I'm honestly surprised there are more than a million people wanting to buy a game with a Korean boyband in it lol.

And I really doubt FF fans are such big graphic whores that they would just abandon playing a franchise they supposedly love just because it will come out on the Switch as well. And the game would be made for the Switch first and upgraded for the PS4. At least that would be the sensible thing to do.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how Xenoblade Chronicles 2 compares to FF XV in terms of overworld and critical reception.
