Forums - Nintendo - Tabata: Nope To FFXV On Switch; Would Like To See Android Apps On Switch

Never expected PS4/XBO games on Switch, so no FFV is no surprise.

As for apps, I completely agree. Nintendo should be laying the ground work for a Nintendo Phone. Hopefully, they will do this over the next couple of years. If they are not even going to attempt to grow, I just don't see how they can stay relevant. Even though Nintendo makes amazing games, the $300 pay wall is outrageously steep, when you consider how much more you get with basically any other device on the market.

I hope that this is the feeling all across Japan, and it forces Sony and Nintendo to fix the mobile games crisis. We need handheld/phone hybrids, and we need them to put massive support behind android and ios developers to bring thier games and apps to the PS and Nintendo OS's.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. As a smart phone is some what of a requirement for Switch anyway, why would you not just play Android games on the smart phone.

I'm expecting the "do we need a thread every time a game doesn't come to switch" argument to come up shortly,

And in this case - absolutely. FF15 was on many people wish list.

Perhaps there should be a "mega thread" to group all threads like this though.

I'm waiting for "the game was garbage anyway" comments

I'm waiting for that obligatory "this game sucks anyway. Nobody would buy this game on nintendo console" response

"Incidentally, I think that Switch would be really cool if it could run Android apps on its portable screen…" I agree with you on this matter, mr tabata

Nintendo fans would buy this though... FF started on Nintendo after all. They'd buy it over CoD and Mass Effect, I'm sure. It just fits Nintendo's demographic more.

What does a Nintendo demographic comprise of?

Well over the Wii's lifetime it still got a lot of major 3rd party franchsises e.g. Call of Duty, Fifa, Dragon Quest X, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Tomb Raider, etc. Developers stopped putting out games because they didn't sell as the majority of the Wii's install base were casual gamers which had no interest in any theses games.

And there were plenty of IP that weren't on the Wii period ... no mainline Final Fantasy, no Street Fighter, no Tekken, no Ridge Racer, no Metal Gear Solid, no Red Dead Revolver, no Grand Theft Auto, no BioShock, even the DQ and Resident Evil games it did get weren't really "mainline" installments either.

The extent of the 3rd party support the Nintendo Switch will recieve is something we will have to wait and see, but if it gets low sales it will probably get low 3rd party support but if it gets high sales it will probably get high 3rd party support. Something to consider aswell as for developers is that does the Switch need multiplatform games that will sell poorly due it being a less graphical version on other consoles, of course the portable factor could make up of for it in some aspects due to the lower standards of handheld/mobile games. I personally believe the 3rd party support the Switch needs is like of the 3DS's 3rd party support, such as games built from the ground up for that system which cater more to its install base aswell as hardware and offer a more unquie experience.

Anyway, if Square Enix can make Dragon Quest 11 for the 3DS, they can make pretty much make any game for the Switch, whether it's a port or its own version. I'm pretty sure this game won't end up on the Switch regardless but that doesn't no games will.

Since FFXV was a huge dissapointment for me I couldnt care less if it did, I wouldn't buy it either way.

I know this feeds into the sour grapes argument but I also personally don't care if FFXV doesn't get ported over to the Switch -- in fact, I understand why when you consider how the XB1 struggles to run it.  I also don't care because it feels like they've moved their target audience from core gamers to casual gamers and fangirls and I'd be more estatic if they ported over the remastered version of FFXII to the Switch than FFXV.

Now, with that being said, it's still a blow because it's a game that would have sold well on the Switch if it were released within its first year.  If they end up porting over the game a few years down the line or on the successor of the Switch, no one is going to give a shit.

RE4 IS a mainline installment. Wii goit a better game than any SF released since III. Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. Best Capcom fighter they have released since then as well.

Kinda bogus to say, "it wouldnt run" then backtrack and say "it might, we havent tried"

I agree with you on this matter, mr tabata. But looking at how nintendo is treating NSwitch, they probably will tell you to use your phone instead.

I'm usually one that says stuff like that because most of the time it is true (for games like For Honour and Mass Effect), but for final fantasy, thats wrong, i think Nintendo fans would like to have it on switch and that they would buy it if it was, even with downgrades.

Meh... This game sucks anyway. Nobody would buy this game on nintendo console... I mean, I don't like incomplete games so...

Although, do we need a thread every time a game doesn't come to switch? Specially if the game was garbage anyway?
