And there were plenty of IP that weren't on the Wii period ... no mainline Final Fantasy, no Street Fighter, no Tekken, no Ridge Racer, no Metal Gear Solid, no Red Dead Revolver, no Grand Theft Auto, no BioShock, even the DQ and Resident Evil games it did get weren't really "mainline" installments either. |
The extent of the 3rd party support the Nintendo Switch will recieve is something we will have to wait and see, but if it gets low sales it will probably get low 3rd party support but if it gets high sales it will probably get high 3rd party support. Something to consider aswell as for developers is that does the Switch need multiplatform games that will sell poorly due it being a less graphical version on other consoles, of course the portable factor could make up of for it in some aspects due to the lower standards of handheld/mobile games. I personally believe the 3rd party support the Switch needs is like of the 3DS's 3rd party support, such as games built from the ground up for that system which cater more to its install base aswell as hardware and offer a more unquie experience.
Anyway, if Square Enix can make Dragon Quest 11 for the 3DS, they can make pretty much make any game for the Switch, whether it's a port or its own version. I'm pretty sure this game won't end up on the Switch regardless but that doesn't no games will.
