Leo-J, you exaggerated the crap out of it! You are saying that it will be the best game of all time, define the 7th gen consoles, and sell 8 million lifetime?

OT: This will be a great game! (not a 10 or even a 9.8 on gamerankings, cause no game is that good for them.)
I could see Ign giving this a 9.5 and Gamespot giving it a 9.0. (it will be on par with Cod4.)
But, leo-j, this game won't define the seventh gen of consoles. No 1 game defines a gen. It takes multiple games. (Smg, Gt5, Halo 3, Mgs4, Wiifit, Brawl, Gta4.)
I really don't think this game could scrap 8 million lifetime either in all honesty. Though it will be close, maybe 6 mil.
Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.
Wii: 135 mil
Ps3: 85 mil
360: 60 mil
Practically, imo, this game will be like Galaxy. They are both met with widespread praise, have somewhat low launches, and sell wiith MASSIVE legs!
(Galaxy may hit 10mil. Mgs4 may hit 6 mil and beat the Ps2 versions.)
Scratch that, mgs4 will sell 6.5 mil. (And become the Ps3's 3rd best selling game.)

I would say the MGS serie has the best epic story ever... or that is atleast my idea...I really have the hunger to know more about the MGS story..
It will be wonderful,it's almost sure,but perhaps some magazines and web sites would react with suspicions ways like before with great PS3 games?

? Do MGS games do exceptionally well in Japan. After all, that is the region they are hurting in now.

- Legend of Zelda
- Final Fantasy
- Baldur's Gate
- Super Smash Bros
- Starcraft
I'm surprised you're even trying to argue such a subjective thing with Leo. Ask 5 gamers what the best franchises are, and you'll probably get 25 different answers. Obviously what is the ''best franchise'' is your own opinion; arguing opinions with other opinions is hardly a credible argument. Personally, I would rank MGS as one of the top 2 or 3 franchises; if 4 fulfills its potential it will have earned a permanent spot at the top of my list.
I know you threw in the ''well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion'', but you dont' have to make it sound so damn condescending. Like seeing a homeless person eating garbage and saying ''well, you're certainly entitled to live your life how you wish".

They sell decently:
MGS 2: 0.85m / 5.56m
MGS 3: 0.86m / 3.96m
It will boost sales, but not in the long term
Well, I looked it up.
I just don't see this game exploding Ps3 sales. Japan is definitely not buying it in hordes. The other games didn't even break 1m over there.
Either way, looks like a really good buy for a ps3 owner.
