*looks at sales last year, looks at sales this year*  Yup, those games have done absolutely nothing  /sarcasm.  You could maybe have a case for Japan.

im not suprised its a system seller. it will be the last game in the 20 year old franchise, how else would u see how it all ends without buying a ps3?

I love it whenever someone generalizes one person's opinon and applies it to a big fanbase.

Lair, Heavenly Sword, Blacksite 51, Folklore, WarHawks, Ratchet and Klank, Uncharted(good sales, but was supposed be huge system seller blah blah blah), Gt Prologue(referring to Japan on this one), Dynasty Warriors, Hot Shots Golf, UT3, Sonic the Hedgehog, Yakuza, etc. At one time or another this game were claimed to AAA systems seller by a PS3 fanboy.

That aside, MGS4 should be a great game, but it is a very hardcore game, and the PS3 has already captured the hardcore audience.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, especially on a few of those games that bombed....but...

Those games are selling systems slowly but surely. 

Regardless, those games have done their jobs. The recent sales prove it.

The ps3 is now selling between 175,000-200,000 consoles every week.

Last year at this time, it was selling 60,000 consoles a week.

So, I'd say those titles have done just fine in increasing sales. Maybe not individually on the week of each games release (which is expected, most don't buy a console for only one game), but cumulatively as a whole, they have been enough to entice people to start buying a ps3 over the 360.

Anyone that denies that the ps3 has done a 180, is insane. Things should only continue to improve.

SYSTEM SELLER IS RIGHT!! I preordered my MGS4 Premium Pack from Japan! So this game was a system seller for me =D Although I'm now stuck with a Japanese version of the MGS4 special edition, and I can't watch PAL Blu-ray movies, the fact that I own a rare PS3 is all that matters =D Luckily for me, Japan and NA are in the same region, so i'll just import my movies from the U.S and i'm fine =D
This game will be gold, I really do hope it can sell 500k PS3 on launch week, least i know i added 1 to the numbers lol.

I don't think it will pass SMG as the highest rated game this generation, and i don't think it will Pas OoT by a long shot. Of course i could be wrong.

This game has the highest chance this generation of any other gem to get a perfect 10 rating!

MGS4 definately deserves to be my most anticipated game of the entire year
