No. It's not the only influence, but it does factor in.
Cel Shaded = possibly likable by all
Realistic = less liked by kids, more so liked by adults
This is by no means a mathematical formula, but just ask yourself, why didn't NiN make that realistic Zelda game they showed off once with the spider? There are potentially many reasons, but graphics style most certainly played a factor.
NiN's main audience is kids. Sure people of all ages like NiN, and they have great games for everyone, but their core is kids. Always has been, always will be. Kids are much less mature than adults (most of them anyway). Selling a graphically realistic version of Zelda may not reach as broad an audience, and may not sell near as well as a more cartoony version, so NiN uses styles like cel shaded instead. Which is fine because it looks great and is different than the norm, and has done well for games like Zelda.
If realistic graphics don't have anything to do with the maturity of a game, then why didn't they make the new Resident Evil game look like Mario?

SO BEAUTIFUL !!!!! 3 friends buy themselves for the first time a playstation at the first march. The game is one of the reasons. Two of them are PC gamers and want to master the masterpieces like Uncharted 4, The Last of Us, Bloodborne ect. : D

Not really for instance.
You wouldnt let your kids play them two games and they are cel shaded. The best selling Zelda games of all time Twilight Princess and OOT wasnt cel shaded. Like i said using cel shading is an Art choice doesnt influrence how mature the game is and like Fear Effect shows also doesnt mean it can be for everyone. |

No I wouldn't let kids play that game, but not because of the art style, but because of the "Mature" rating on the game. Zelda titles are mostly rated "Everyone" or "Teen" and not "Mature".
You also have to question would a series like Fear Effect sell better if the graphics were more realistic? Does a series like Mafia seem more mature than Fear Effect because it has more realistic graphics?

I'm definitely picking up Horizon on day one! I'm not normally that interested in sandbox games (my general preference is for graphic adventures anymore), but I like the clever premise and aesthetic of this game. And its protagonist, from what I can tell anyway.
I don't like Aloy's hairstyle. That's the only con I can think of right now.

^^ That is torture! Pure cruelty to tease us like that!
Signature goes here!

That's refreshing. I'm now used to mega-day one patches. Very good sign, indeed.
