This game is just breath taking. I can not wait to see PS4 exclusives games this year that continue to build on this. Shadow of the Colossus and God of War already look like they are going to continue to raise the bar. Ever since sony started SIEWWS and began sharing technologies across its studios, they have been on another level.

Hey can I ask you all a question - does this game look significantly, or at least noticably, better on the Pro than the regular PS4? I finally got a Pro and playing games like Monster Hunter World is setting a new standard for console games(mostly though because of it's framerate mode) and so i'm wondering if I should replay this for the Pro upgrades. Honestly though I'll probably play it again anyways but still I need to know if that should be a top priority after owning a pro.

Have you set screenshot capture to png? Perhaps it reverted in an update.
Imgur is fine with png for 1080p while those screens you posted are heavily compressed jpg, probably chroma subsampled as well.

That could be it indeed. Svenn, though, I wanted to ask you. Are you more excited for ps5 graphics say 10,11...maybe 12 TFP machines that much closer to photorealistic visuals or in whatever direction they may head with 4k or are you more keen on seeing the Psvr and VR in general make a generational leap in graphics (which im sure will be vastly more noticeable) and ontop of than to see them invent all the ways theymay use to trick us akin to motion blur/bloom in the ps2 days.

Where would you put your money in early preparation for ps5, 4k tv or save and see if a new headset releases or perhaps both? Would you buy a psvr2 and how whats been your experience with 4k on tbe Pro so far? About to drop money real soon on a pro but i have a nagging feeling its pointless unless i grab a 4k tv first.

I know that a lot but would appreciate the advice.

Just by chance this thread popped up for me to see again. Nice pictures of the frozen wilds.

I am much more excited at the prospect of a psvr 2.0, not hindered by a base model. While the screenshots look great, I have no intention on playing the frozen wilds even though I have a 4K HDR tv now since my old one went on the fritz with blue dot patterns interfering all over the screen. And guess what, I mainly play GTS on the pro on that broken tv whic is sitting next to the shiny 4K HDR tv which is connected to the cable box. So I can race and watch tv at the same time!

4K HDR on the pro does look amazing, for a while, makes stuff without look dull. Then you don't really care anymore, at least I don't. And I'm back to playing psvr or racing on the old tv or projector.  Pro without a 4K tv, it's hard to notice the difference. If you're not overly sensitive to jaggies then super sampling isn't going to do much for you. Slightly faster loading is nice yet I mainly bought it for psvr and I wanted a second one as the first one was full and always used by my kids.

I'm still excited to see SotC running in 60fps 1080p on the pro though. I'll be playing that on the 4K HDR tv, 1080p HDR 60fps, should be lovely. Yet other than SotC I have nothing else non VR on the horizon. Even RDR2 isn't doing it for me anymore post VR. Once my current GTS addiction breaks I'll be back to VR non stop. 4K HDR meh.

It's mostly the tv that makes things look good. I'm often watching my kids play something and think that looks incredible, only to realize they're playing on the base ps4...

Noticeably yes, with HDR that is. Significantly, no. I didn't lure me into playing it again, yet I had a lovely time browsing through my 4K screenshots I had only seen in 1080p thus far.

As for on a 1080p screen, a few less jaggies is no reason to play again... Yet I will play SotC again in performance mode.

It's a beauty. GOW is looking pretty snazzy based on what's been shown so far. PS isn't messing around with the visuals for their exclusives this gen. Game play ain't nothing to shake a stick at either. They should really stop or limit the photo mode or I'm going to start running out of storage space for games. lol
