Forums - Sony - Final Fantasy XII PS4 release date announced.

Really hoping for a Switch version.

One of the few games where I'd get the Switch version over the PS4 one.

I think you have the dates backwards? It's July 11 for NA/EU and July 13 for Asia/JP

sooooo many RPGs to play, looking forward to getting into this at some point

hope it's as good as I remember

FF XII was a peculiar game because it had a) great mechanics and b) terrible and flat story and annoying characters ( mainly Vaan). So it, in the end, was OK game because there were a very good thing in it at the same time a very bad thing. I never played Zodiark Job System, but online reviews said that it fix the only bad thing about the game mechanics, the progression system that made all characters very similar in gameplay, almost clones of each other.

So it will be a game with a) Extremely great game mechanics and b) will remain, so it will be a very good game.

Yeah, the Zodiac side of things is the appeal for many of us who did love the game, it didn't feel as Final Fantasy as maybe it could have but dang was it a great game in it's own right. I actually find the story alright but it helped being backed up by superb voice acting. Some of the best in any game in my opinion (not just an individual performance like many games rely on).

I swap out Vaan as soon as I can from my party and never really use him. Zodiac will give the game a different feel hopefully while remaining the game great game it was.

Hmm, pie.

Whoops, thought it was the FF VII remake....doubt I'll be in for zodiac age unless it is a far cry from the original.

Surprised you expected FF7 so soon, I expect it on 2019.

This game allows swapping Vaan as the character to appear in NPC areas. So, we only have to see Vaan in cutscenes. The game was good. The English localization was superb, the MMO-like game maps, real-time battle system but still being extremely strategic, and even visually, it almost fried the poor PS2 to achieve this kind of looks. But the plot and those characters... That plot started promising but when it became just a giant fetch quest it went downhill.

Console exclusive to ps4. Great addition. Hopefully it's in 4k on the Pro!

Have it on PC.

This isn't on PC,  unless you are playing the Japanese version.  Zodiac age never released in the west and the changes over the vanilla version are huge.

Theres a translation patch.

This will be a day 1 for me. One of my favorite FF games!
