Yeah, the Zodiac side of things is the appeal for many of us who did love the game, it didn't feel as Final Fantasy as maybe it could have but dang was it a great game in it's own right. I actually find the story alright but it helped being backed up by superb voice acting. Some of the best in any game in my opinion (not just an individual performance like many games rely on). I swap out Vaan as soon as I can from my party and never really use him. Zodiac will give the game a different feel hopefully while remaining the game great game it was. |
This game allows swapping Vaan as the character to appear in NPC areas. So, we only have to see Vaan in cutscenes. The game was good. The English localization was superb, the MMO-like game maps, real-time battle system but still being extremely strategic, and even visually, it almost fried the poor PS2 to achieve this kind of looks. But the plot and those characters... That plot started promising but when it became just a giant fetch quest it went downhill.
