Forums - Nintendo - Any chance of $400+ SKU with 128-256gb and bundled item?

I am really stoked on such a poweful handheld console with capabilities of the switch and nintendo first party games.

While I think that they did what was technically possible to achieve a SKU of $300, I really feel there a nescessity for a premium SKU.

Marketing wise, wouldn't be good to release this premium SKU at launch, not to alieanate consumers and neither confuse them, but peharps in christmas or 2018 I think there should be a premium SKU with more internal storage and a bundled game or with a pro controller included.

32gb is just too small, while anything higher would be impossible at $300 price point considering Nintendo business model depends on never taking a loss on units sold or most likely take a small profit.

But consdering the NAND internal storage should be faster than any budget microsd card, I really wish there was a bigger storage option, considering I will buy all games digital since is better where I live. Would pay real premium price for it, could even pay $500 for one SKU with a fast 256gb.

I don't think so. You should just buy physical games.

No. Not a chance in hell.

If people are complaining that $300 is too expensive, how well do you think $400 will be received? $500?!? Now you're entering PS3 Launch territory! Even if it is a Premium/Deluxe SKU, you'd need to include a Pro Controller AND Breath of the Wild in the bundle to make it worth it.

You can buy a brand new 128 GB Micro SD card off Amazon for $40, plus tax, free shipping or handling.

If extra storage is that important to those people, you can get a 200 GB card for $70, no tax, and ALSO free shipping and handling, either one would still be well below that suggested $400 retail bundle.

The Switches problem at $300 is you get a very bare bones device. If they had a $400 model with 4G and 128GB of Storage, then it would be a great value, and getting tons of praise.

I am 100% sure we will se more Switch models, but it won't be tell at least holiday 2018. If you want more storage at this point you'll have to buy it yourself for now. Like the OP said, having higher priced models with more storage would be great. I also would be interested in a $500 Switch if it had plenty of internal storage and could replace my slabphone.

My advise to anyone buying a PS4, XBO, or Switch, buy all of your titles digital. Your games will be supported forever going forward, and they will work on all versions of your platform(s) of choice.

128 GB SD cards can easily be had for $40.

I live in mars and there is only one shuttle to earth per year, even tho I have alien powered internet of high speed. Digital is a must for me since I would buy games more than once per year.

The microsd will be always slower than the NAND soldered in the console mobo as internal storage, and a 256gb high speed microsd is 200 dollars. Here in mars the life expectancy is half the earth one due to low gravity and higher sun radiation health related complications, so cutting by half the loading times of breath of the wild is a must.

A 128gb with pro controller would be amazing for 400 dollars. While I would argue some would even see value for a 256gb with pro controller and breath of wild digital code and improved battery amperage for 500 dollars.

Renting the shuttle space from mars is expensive based on weight, putting a 300 dollars console vs a 500 dollar of same weight makes the difference negligible when you considering the importing costs mostly fall in fuel costs to mars. Also, the Federation of Mars impose a tax only after the import cost is above $500 for some reason, so the $500 is the sweetspot for people here. Also purchase of digital content trough internet are tax free due to incompentence of the Federation of regulating transactions through internet and only having a credit card related tax of negligible value.

Altough I have heard the Saturn United Rings impose tax above $400, so they may choose the 400 dollar version unlike me.
