Could have been worse. Its art direction could have been as bad as XCX.

It is much worse than XCX. Plus, for fans, Kunihiko Tanaka's style is as iconic to the Xeno series as Akira Toriyama's is to Dragon Quest.

Zone of the Enders HD Collection.
Prince of Persia (cell shaded 2008 version).
Star Wars The Old Republic. (Thanks to this we'll never get KOTOR III, which makes me very angry, just imagine KOTOR III with Battlefront's engine!!!).
GTA Online killed any chance for any GTA V story DLC, FUCK ONLINE MP WE HATES IT!!!!

Deus Ex Mankind Divided didn't necessarily ruin the franchise, but it could have put the series to some sleep now (again). The game isn't bad, it just couldn't replicate half of the buzz that Human Revolution generated and thus Square Enix isn't interested making more entries short-term. Now Eidos is focused on the Marvel project and maybe the next Tomb Raider.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Metroid Other M. Seriously, fuck that game.

I totally disagree with NG3 if you include razors edge. It wasn't the pinnacle of the series, but it was pretty decent.

NG3 vanilla and NGZ were bad though.

Also, i don't think the series is dead. We know NG4 is in development. They said so in interviews when promoting NGZ.
Just... who knows when its coming out...

Lots of FF's broke my heart. FF8 in particular. After the excellent FF7, with wich i experienced what is arguiably the pinnacle of the series...what was this junction BS that incentivates you to draw all day and not use magic so you get high stats? What is this BS about everyone beeing in the same orphanage and no one remembering? These teenagers aren't 50!
It was the tumble of the series. It never managed to hit the same level as 7 ever again. 9 and 10 were ok, but not awesome. The rest... even worse.
Well at least there was FFTactics... the one... with no sequal and on that note FFTA2!

Mass Effect 3, though not completely.

I played through ME1 about 3-4 times.

Mass Effect 2 about a dozen times, at least, likely more.

Mass Effect 3? 1.6 Times: The first playthrough time; the "This cant be it, wheres the rest, whats with this B*llsh*t"-time; and the "Maybe the Extended-Cut fixes it"- time. The Last two werent complete playthroughs but reloads of the first playthrough starting right before the ending.

I know Andromeda exists and may look into it at some point, when its reduced, during Steam-Sale, in a year or so.

Maybe.

Dont get me wrong, the actual game was pretty awesome, and I loved the multiplayer, despite the kinda pay to win structure they had going, but damn that ending killed just about any hype I had.

The Irony of it all: I got the game a few weeks after release, so I had heard that there was something wrong with the ending. But after playing the game I completely forgot about that because the rest of the game was just soooo goooood!
So there I am hearing how well have to storm the citadel with a strike team to win, and in my brain the endings from ME1 and ME2 are combined into a incredible bunch of pure space opera awesomeness.

Then came the actual ending. The ghost kid. The colors. And all the other BS.

So, yeah, no andromeda for me, thank you very much.

The new guy.

Sorry for possible mistakes, not a native speaker!

Here's my short list.

Halo (the original)
FF: XIII
COD: Modern Warfare
BF 1 (starting to get too much of that arcade feel from COD)
Command and Conquer: Renegade
Unreal Tournament 3 (Although the Alpha for 4 is amazing so it may redeem itself)
Star Craft II
Neverwinter Nights MMO (Turning the series into an MMO ruined it)
Quake 4
Doom 3 (revived with new DOOM)
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced.

Edit** a couple adds: Tomb Raider reboot, Assasins Creed Brotherhood (Black Flag is an exception)

AC3. The franchise had a lot going for it before the milking.

I think AC4 ruined the franchise. Thanks to people who were hating the story and modern day now we have shitty first person gameplay without a main character and now we don't even have shitty gameplay, just cutscenes.

I couldn't make it that far in the series lol. Wait, AC is now first person?!

Idk I personally like the art direction 2 has so far. Yea it's a different art direction than X and (less extent) the original. It's a first trailer. I'm not gonna go AWOL over it's graphical or art build since it's gonna be tweaked over the course of the year. It doesn't really look lifeless to me. I'm personally excited for the game as I'm enjoying X so far and I'm hoping to get into Chronicles 1 soon.
