Forums - General - Huge protest going on in NYC (and DC) over Trump's anti-immigration order

Under Trump they'll soon all have jobs and no time to protest.

Wait, what are they protesting against again? They protesting for immigration?

I think they are protesting to keep illegal immigrants.  That's my only guess since legal immigration is still legal.

Seems stupid. Why were they not protesting the deportation of Muslim refugees by Obama? Seriously the anti-Trump protesters are pathetic.

Why not. The rebellion in Turkey was ended because the followers of the president had his people go out in the streets and stand in the way of the tanks.

That was the coup. Protest created for pushing agendas have to transform in political organization, if not they will die naturally.

Listen, people in ur country can elect a man who you are hatin all day'nin, u can protest next to Pres office 24/7 and that will change nothing. It's counterproductive.

Doesn't matter. Protests bring attention to causes that otherwise would be ignored. Womens Sufferage, Civil Rights came through protests. Protests stirs the emotions that do end up in law. I think you don't think it works because you haven't been alive long enough to see it happen. The real issue is that from protests to law is usually a process that could take decades. Very few movements keep the momentum it needs.

I agree with it. Trump is in the office already and he is working fast. He has enough time to push all his projects and the opposition can do nothing with it. Next election is the moment where the movement shall organise itself.

Also, protest on the streets looks bad in the TV. Bad press, I will name it.
