Forums - Sales - REVII Cheaper than Mario Bros U

So, after so much talk about WiiU not getting more support after BotW, I took on the endeavour of looking for those games that Im still missing and should get before they get escarce. So after several dealers webpages, I couldnt find cheaper prices for Mario Bros U or Hyrule warriors than the equivalent of $70 USD... Seventy gooddamn bucks... But ironically I just found a preorder of REVII for $50 USDs which Im getting right about now.

This is exactly what is wrong with Nintendo. Everytime I want to get an old Nintendo game, prices discourages me...

Yeah, it is annoying. I am normally quite a bit behind in new releases, but I like it that way as I get such great value out of gaming by buying software cheaper. Games start at £40, and if any of Nintendo's first party get down to £30, even if they are a year old, I'll snap them up because it just goes up again. Even after multiple years they don't get that low.

Although maybe the price of NSMBU has increased because it's over 4 years old now, and they have very little stock?

The game has been released as a Nintendo Select hasn't it?

Yeah, Nintendo almost never lower the prices of their games. And since that's what I mainly buy Nintendo consoles for, my PlayStation collections are generally much larger.

I think demand and availability drive Nintendo's prices. There's a digital sale on Mario games right now, on WiiU. Your problem is retailers (who may have a glut of RE7 software to sell). Not Nintendo.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to decide if I buy the $60 version of RE7 or the $80 version with bonus stuff I don't even know if I want but might regret not getting.

I still remember grabbing Link between Worlds a year and a half later for 45 Euros. Nintendo hate lowering the prices of their games. They probably feel it's them lowering the "value" of said games, when really it's not.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Yeah. I know Nintendo games wont let me down. And I dont even know if REVII wont flop, but damn, sometimes their prices just seem ridiculous.
Im gonna pay a visit to second hand game dealers, because I really want those missing WiiU games before they get even more expensive.
But for now, Ill be getting REVII for $50 dlls from mexican Walmart day one.

I generally buy Nintendo games on Amazon or eBay for lower prices.

At retail, you often get screwed.

I'm surprised Hyrule Warriors is still that expensive where you are. I swear I recently saw a copy at Target for less than $40.

No idea why the 2D Mario game hasn't dropped in price yet though. I recently picked up Star Fox Zero for $30 (Nintendo gave me a birthday coupon), and Mario 3D World for $20 (apparently it was a Select game this whole time and I had no idea), so I'm sure you'll find deals on games you haven't picked up yet at some point.

It's a reason to buy Nintendo games at launch because they will still be the same price after a year or more

But that's exactly why it's really annoying buying new games from them :/
