Top 3 problems for me:

1. Pricing: why would a consumer choose it over a PS4?

2. JoyCons: they doubled down on an old gimmick and drove up the cost of the hardware. And then $70 for a normal controller? It doesn't even come with a normal controller?

3. Games: there will be droughts

1:  Is this a joke?  Nintendo games, portable mode, 720p Wiiu on steroids level of graphics on a handheld with a 6" screen... Why do you guys still think raw power is everything? is such a simpleton way to think.

2: You know nothing about the production price of the joycons and they can actually be a major sell point , they have gyroscope like wiu, they have pointers like the wii (without a cable in the middle), they have what is seems to be the best rumbling tech for a console ever, they can calculate velocity, distance and recognize objects and shapes and they can work like independent gamepads to play multiplayer everywhere, they are pretty cool, even Digital Foundry said they actually feel right in your hands despite size and the feedback from the game Arms is great, i have read the Joycons make it very fun.

3:This console will get every Nintendo game thanks to the unifies library, every one of them, no more split between handheld and homecosnole, that means it will not have big droughts like the Wiiu at all.

Get outta here with that bullshit. No way in hell a sane person would pay $80 for a controller. Freaking PS4 controllers already cost alot as is.

It has a couple of issues.
While its first year line-up (assuming no delays) is stellar, its launch games include a Wii U port (albeit, a highly anticipated title that will be launching simultaneously on Wii U and Switch), two first party tech demos, and a small handful of small third party ports.
Its battery life is less than stellar. I figure most games will be closer to the two and a half hour end of the spectrum than the six hour end of the spectrum. Furthermore, batteries degrade over time, so it's possible that battery life will be even less a year later.
The prices of the accessories are ludicrously high. That said, I am not entirely sure why someone would by extra controllers under normal circumstances, except for, perhaps, four player local co-op.
The paid online service sounds remarkably stingy. I am usually not one to mind paying for online access, as the sheer volume of 'free' games is worth the price, even though I often don't play the games. But an NES/SNES game a month that might only be playable for a month is insulting.

I still intend to buy one in May, once I am done playing through Persona 5 twice in quick succession, but the system is not without its issues.

My problem is out of stock, i have to wait much longer. :/

Kill me! :D

No problem. Just need to have a good E3 and Nintendo is back to Burgerville.

Get you and your lack of understanding outt of here, I was referring to the part when he suggest the joycons are guilty for the price of the system when nobody knows how expensive to make they are and I'm not denying the possibility that he is right specially given theamount of stuff they have but to jump on that conclusion so early is kind of baseless.

I expected to get it for the local multiplayer, as Nintendo seem to be the last manufacturer caring about it, but 80$ for an additional controller kind of makes me rethink that.

There's no option for "all of the pricing"...

Nintendo needs to accept that they are, for the most part, a periphery console manufacturer. Most people aren't exclusively Nintendo or "main" their Nintendo consoles, they use Nintendo as a secondary system exclusively for handheld and Nintendo 1st party.

And Nintendo understood that second part, which is why the Switch is both home console and handheld. The only problem is they don't want to admit to being most gamers' second string console... but they are. And as a result, they will always need to adjust their price to reflect the fact that they aren't typically a first choice console. This means they need lower prices for their platforms so people are enticed to purchase their "second platform".

I'll personally wait for a price drop to $200 before considering getting one. I already have a pretty effective Zelda machine, anyway.

I'm pretty shocked by the price of the various controllers and peripherals. One joycon costs more than a Wii Remote by $10, and we all know Wii Remotes should have dropped in price a long time ago, considering they're 2009 technology at the latest with motionplus. So feels like the joycons shouldn't be as expensive as they are. It's probably HD rumble's fault.

I feel like the HD Rumble (albeit this is without me having played it) is possibly the most gimmicky thing they've done, and probably needlessly adds cost to the controllers. It's a case of doing something 'new' just to do it, when nobody asked for it. It may be cool in specific situations, but I don't know that it justifies the cost. And then charging $50 for that HD rumble tech demo. That's almost insulting. That game should be packed in, and even then, I think they should charge $250 for the console since they're obviously marking everything up excessively. Or at least release a tablet/joycon handheld-only bundle for $199 so people have the option instead of complaining about how it's not powerful enough to be a home console, blah blah blah.

I'm also bothered by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe...a game that they've had a year and a half to add to and only added a battle mode and a handful of maps for that, and no new racetracks and only a few new characters/karts? Seriously?! And it's not even ready AT LAUNCH?! WTF? AND you want to charge $60 for it? That'd be fine, for anybody who didn't buy a Wii U. It's a fantastic game, and totally worth the price! But a lot of the early adopters of Switch are going to be people who also have a Wii U, and we're getting kind of screwed on that. I've already played 60 hours of Mario Kart 8.

Zelda, and the promise of Splatoon 2, Mario, Xenoblade 2, and the inevitable (hopefully) Pokemon and Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem and etc. games that will come to Switch are the only reasons I'm currently excited. I think Nintendo has botched this by trying to push it as a home console replacement/evolution of Wii U, rather than as their newest handheld. If you look at it as a handheld, everyone says it's fantastic. But it's a disappointment as a home console, and yet Nintendo is highlighting the disappointing aspect of it.

Also, to the battery life people...3DS has always been in the range of 3-6 hours (longer for VC and DS games), and with the 3D on, usually only managed about 3 at best, and I've had the original, the XL, and the New XL, so I can confirm that with my own experience. So to tell me that a 6.2 inch, 720p HD screen that can run Zelda Breath of the Wild on it will last me 3 hours, I'm completely happy with that. Period.

Beyond that, they just need to announce more games, and make me feel like the dearth of droughts, lazy software with recycled assets, and games that are just 'bad' we've endured on Wii U and 3DS the past couple years (Animal Crossing HHD, Amiibo Festival, M&L: Paper Jam, Metroid Federation Force, Star Fox Zero, Paper Mario Color Splash, numerous ports back and forth) was because they were working on games for Switch instead. I need to see the REAL games that they should've been working on for 3 years. Zelda is going to be fantastic. Mario will be fantastic. Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade 2 will be amazing experiences with 100s of hours of content. But there should be more stuff ready by now. They need to announce more leading up to launch and then at E3 they need to WOW with software. Forget about the hardware, Switch will be alive and out in the wild, and they just need to have more games on the way for it for the rest of the year and beyond.

This is all coming from a die-hard Nintendo fan. To be clear, I AM excited for Switch. But not as excited as I was and feel like I should be. And the negative reaction online hasn't been helping. But when March 3rd rolls around, Zelda will be all I care about anyway, and it's more exciting to think about breaking in a new system with it than playing a version that's slightly less optimized/slightly lower resolution on Wii U.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

All of the above. Sadly the hybrid design is wasted on me . After I realized I didn't play my DS & PSP nearly enough, I skipped 3DS / Vita. So I would much rather Nintendo made a good home console, or din't make one at all.
