Forums - Nintendo - Switch's Monthly Free Games are only playable for the month. You don't keep them.

The largest amount of multiplayer hours are on multiplatform games. Nintendo needs to gather a share of consumers from their competition and form their consoles online in their own right. They just dont get it. Its not just about free games.

Just wonderful. If it wasn't for Splatoon 2, I wouldn't bother paying for it.

According to Wired games editor:

"Confirmed by NOA: Monthly free classic game on Switch is indeed only available for that month. More deets on Virtual Console before launch." "After a month, you can no longer PLAY the monthly Switch online classic unless you buy it." Link.

This means that, unlike PS4 and XB1, you wont be able to keep the games past their availability month even if you are still subscribed to the service. Was this known? Because I thought the service worked like PS+.

First the accessories ridiculous pricing and now this. Facepalm? Am I the only one who cares?

Oh my, they have become greedier than Disney!

Eh, people are really falling down to conclusions really fast. I would like to give a opinion of the online service the moment I have more details on it. It's not out yet. Chances can still occur.

Wait, what did Disney do?

Milking they classics to death, carefully and stingily eking out reruns of some of them like Snow White even 70 years or more after their première, ruthlessy lobbying to extend US and possibly World copyright duration to an insane number of years just to say a few.

Haha yeah, they don't want Mickey on the public domain. But theres a good side to that since thanks to them we won't have Mario and Zelda on the Public domain either, so it will be a long while before Sony can ruin Nintendos IPs.

Well, that is just a stupid solution, but not uncommon knowing how Nintendo work.

You mean extremely anti consumer?

I wouldn´t necessarily say it´s anti-consumer because I don´t think that is their reasoning behind the decisions they make. I think it´s a mentality thing, stemming all the way back to when they had the Nintendo seal of quality. They know their software is generally of very high quality and want this to be reflected in everything they do, including price, the downside for them is that it´s a model that hasn´t really worked for them for 15 years to the extent it did during the 90´s. And it´s costly for us fans.

they can say that rubbish all they want. the fact is they are majorly over pricing their products and it results in anti consumer policies and decisions.
