The Wii U was dead game wise, like 2 years ago.

I thought this ment that all their efforts would have been put into the switch and it would have the most insane lineup ever at launch. Sadly I dont know what nintendo spent those 2years on? did they all just take a break instead?

I thought, hey its useing a tegra x1 they got dirt cheap from nvidia that cant sell those power hungry tablet chips.... maybe this means the hardware will be super cheap? remember them comeing out and saying "you ll be surprised how cheap it is"? they made a mistake with the Wii U price wise? (implying this would launch much cheaper).
I was wrong... its overpriced for the hardware inside it.

Im super bummed out, this is Wii U 2.0.

4. Paid online: Obvious was obvious. There is just no way Nintendo wouldn't want to cash in when both MS (doing since the 360) and Sony (since the PS4) are doing. The problem is the lack of blockbuster third party games will make it hard to justify, as that's what people play the most online.

I was actually quite surprised by this. By the sounds of it, Nintendo isn't going to put enough effort into online even with paid online, so either the price needs to be very cheap or there has to be a huge effort Nintendo has simply miscommunicated to us. Considering the overall pricing, I'm not sure the price is going to be low, and I don't think Nintendo could have miscommunicated everything this badly either. Long story short, it seems Nintendo is going to have a paid online service that doesn't offer nearly enough buck for the money, which is surprising to me. Of course if it works, it'll be great for Nintendo, but there's been criticism even about better services, so...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, the very great BraLoD.

Thanks, looks like people are afraid of my greatness.

Of course, that's always going to be the case.

Why wouldn't Nintendo charge for online? They want money like everyone else.
Nintendo also said paying $60 for games was never gonna happen during the PS360 era, did it with the Wii U.
Nintendo didn't have DLCs on the PS360 era, had on the Wii U.

Nintendo is just a generation behind everyone else, but they'll obviously as a company push anything that is accepted by the market.
Nintendo is greed like any company, and even if they don't have much to offer back for doing so, they don't care, they will adopt it.

Money is the word.

Because it has a good chance of failing if the pricing is high. It has potential for huge profit, but at the same time it's also a huge risk.

I know Nintendo is greedy, just like everyone else. I know it from the prices that never seem to come down, be it consoles, games, or accessories. Even used stuff tends to cost a lot.

Pretty similar to my thoughts as well

Just gotta say that I don't see why people are trying to say the hardware is outdated? Cause it's really not, it's a custom made recent chipset inside the Switch made by nvidia. The controllers also have a lot of fancy tech in them. Raw horsepower is not equal to how "outdated" the tech is.

Yeah...I expected after the wind down on Wii U that they'd come out th egate strong for the Switch. Right now the launch window (March-May) is quite poor from what I saw.  Zelda is great, and the game been waiting for three years to play, but learned to never buy a system for one title alone.

Plenty of time to make Switch a success, but right now launch looks sparse.

I think it's a crime that you don't like Mario 64 nor Sunshine : P
