5/10

If this thing doesnt drop to $200 for christmas 2017 id say Nintendo are pretty mich done in the console business. Then again... is this even a console? Either way im buying it.

Would kill for 3ds cart support, they even confirmed its a touchscreen so it hurts even more not to have that functionality.

Wow, reactions seem really all over the place on this one. Mixed.

Solid 3

Pros:
Good games shown
Sexy Blue and Red version

Cons:
Paid Online - (not a chance for a nintendo system)
10 year old tech for the price
about 3 games at launch
3rd party not showing games, just talking

Very meh, i was going to get one launch day for £199 but £300 for that is not happening, especially considering launch line up

2018 Hit List: Shadow of the Colossus, Detroit, Dreams, Spider-Man, God Of War, Days Gone, Medievil, Tomb Raider 3, RDR2

yeah most are 4-8 in score.

But 1,3 are higher than 9 or 10.

avg score is probably slightly less than 5.

More games announced since the presentation, including from the Tales series.

The conference itself was very Japanese heavy, a little awkward and lacked the some of the glitz of the PS4 reveal. It also had less amazing content, particularly on the third party side. But it was good, and delivered a lot of info. And a number of games looked excellent.

I liked:
-Innovative hardware features built in. Full Wiimote support through Joycons, advanced rumble, advanced IR sensing - this stuff is awesome and you're not seeing that kind of hardware innovation anywhere else. It's fun.
-Price is decent. I expected paid online.
-Zelda is breathtaking.
-Super Mario Odyssey is far better name than SM3DW. Looks like very good title.
-XBC2 makes my heart sing. Glad to see them return to that style and the return of ACE to do the music is fantastic. This game alone makes the system worth the purchase.
-Octopath Traveler. Total retro Square goodness. Looks wonderful.

For me, that's a pretty solid opening for the new system. 4 games that I really, really want. On the con side, Nintendo didn't do enough to convert non-buyers. Zelda is going to lure a lot of people in, but if they really want to shake up the market they need to do things they don't normally do. Skyrim is on the right path, but they need something more impressive and controversial from third parties. Alas, the system also looks weak so massive third party support is unlikely.

How can people rate this presentation 5+/10?
It was average at best. Neither big third-party games nor surprising first-party games were announced at the event. $300 is too expensive for the console. Launch line-up looks bad too. Let's be honest guys it's the same thing as the Wii U only being portable now with updated graphics. And of course paying money to play online.

Yesterday was the final proof for me that Nintendo doesn't belong in the gaming hardware industry anymore. 3/10

3/10, the reason I rate it below 5 is because I came out of it with a worse impression than I went it. The saving grace was that Zelda and Mario look great, but overall none of the other games really interest me beyond what I'm already able to get on PS4/PC and I've seen Zelda plenty of times before (plus it's on WiiU) and Mario is Mario.

It was boring, in recent years we've had great conferences which have put games at the forefront while still handing over necessary information. The way dragged on, on some of the elements, the focus on colours and when they brought devs on stage basically to say the Switch seems cool just highlighted the lack of substance.

It didn't help with it being translated, I will admit, maybe if Reggie had presented it may have come off better. Maybe my impression will change after today's events but, based on the presentation, yeah I was not impressed.

Don't ruin the moment

Currently Playing: Rocket League (PC/PS4), Dead Cells (PC)

Good.

Suppose I should cover my rear...

Every piece image or vid they have shown of it in relation to the Switch version has been the remastered version.  So unless they are trolling us, yes it is.  And BGS has a good history of trying to be honest with trailers.

is there any ACTUAL confirmation from Ninty or Bethesda?

That's why I said cover my rear.  Technically "no"

But I can't think of the last time Bethesda ever mislead on that level.  So I'm pretty sure.
