It is much more than that one line.  It is your refusal to look at anything aside from the XB1S success as a reason why PS would be down.  It is your refusal to look at the previous year as part of the reason why something might be down or up.  It is your hard-nosed stance that me saying things like this is discounting the XB1S's success as opposed to what it actually is: entering further evidence and reason into the discussion.

So what? I'm not obligated to agree with you on every point.

I feel XBox One S is indeed the no.1 reason the PS4 is down YoY, MS is far, far more competetive this year. In fact I'll go further and say it's borderline shocking the XBox One is even competetive this year, this should have been a *rout* for Sony, we had heard for months that XBox was going to get destroyed in November/December by many people.

If you don't agree with MS having any impact on Sony sales, fine, but you don't ge to tell people that they can only think one way. I'm not "refusing" anything, I just don't agree with your point.

And this right here is what I am talking about.  You are assuming because I said that Sony's year last year plays into their being down YoY this year that I don't agree with MS having any impact on their sales.

Sales aren't that black and white.  You can't have a logical discussion if the only terms you understand in it are yes and no.  You can say I am trying to tell you how to think, but that is wrong.  What I am trying to do is help you understand that this world is not binary code.  The sales of the consoles is not solely two items playing tug of war.

Since you refuse to see that though, I will simply bid you good day.

But Neodegenerate has agreed with that point. He's saying that there's that plus a variety of other reasons that explain the PS4's YOY decline in December.

By who exactly?

No major Gaming orginizations thought this, be it Gaming news or people in forums. The PS4 didnt have the greatest line up and it still won, just saying that games tend to sell the systems, and it still didnt help the xbox win.

I personally don't agree with those points. Sony should be UP, not down for December. They didn't have PS4 Pro last year. They didn't have PS4 Slim last year. They didn't have a $250 PS4 last year. They have a better overall library this year.

Something else is happening, IMO that something else is the XBox One S.

If someone wants to disagree, that's their perrogative, I'm just calling it how I see it.

I think Sony underperformed this November/December in general and relative to expectations, MS overperformed. This should not be close.

While what u are saying is true you can't say stuff like that around here. You will get pushed around by the hoard.

I hear that.

True that lol, I mean some people treat it literally treat it like a religion or a fanatical sports team. We have posters with god like characters branding Sony and playstation as the return of some sort of king as their signature and others with graphics depicting CEOs firing explodong arrows into the competition. Lol - too funny.. why is this stuff taken so seriously. I mean its fun to follow the industry and to engage into healthy debate or discussions but yeah anyway, you have to watch what u say here so as not to upset people.

And what parts of those points do you disagree with? To recap, Sony released three Star Wars Battlefront bundles as well as the standard Black Ops 3 bundle in December 14, 2015. Sony also released a COD bundle last month, but that bundle came out during the last week of December after Christmas. Compared to Black Ops 3, Infinite Warfare is the significantly worse game. Sales were also down by 50% compared to Black Ops 3. The AAA 3rd party offerings were substantially better during Holidays 2015 than Holidays 2016, especially when we talk about commercial performance.

In addition, the Uncharted Collection bundle was newer than the Uncharted 4 bundle at the time they launched. The UC Collection bundle and standalone collection simultaneously came out in October, so it was still relatively new by the holidays. In contrast, the UC4 bundle came out in September. At that time, UC4 was 4 months old. By November, the game was 6 months old. Comparitively, the UC Collection bundle was fresher than the UC4 bundle at their respective holiday seasons.

With respect, you guys are cherry picking what I'm saying and taking it out of context.

This was the line that apparently got some people upset:

Sounds like they are down year over year though, whereas MS is up year over year for December. That means they closed the gap.

I'm speaking about the gap they had between them last December, MS is trending up, Sony is trending down. The context I was talking about is rather clear there by the preceeding sentence. I never once said MS had closed the gap in overall LTD sales, but the fact that they are far more competetive.

"Gap" is apparently a loaded term. Go figure. To me personally MS' sales are more impressive because they just have one vanilla model, and the One S boost should have faded a bit since it's been available for months whereas PS4 Slim is the new thing for the holiday on top of the really new PS4 Pro.

I'm confused by what you're saying. If they are up yoy, that is only speaking of their own sales for the year. They could be selling them at a loss. They may have sold more, and taking a huge hit to profits in the process. Why would Sony being down yoy even be the good news for Xbox in your thinking? Even if Sony was down on the year, they probably still came out ahead, financially in this year.

(I'm still confused after thinking it over. The company is racing against itself yoy. Bring in another company racing but disregard their yoy? or let them keep that yoy but, dang... I'm lost here. If you wanted to say you're proud of Xbox, why not just say that?)
