Negative. Each of those covers what they need to cover. The one about Staff is straightforward: don't give anyone a hard time. We don't mind reasonable criticism, but outright attacks/badgering/bullying etc, etc... isn't going to fly anymore.

And there aren't multiple new rules. The only thing that wasn't there before were the bullets for Staff Criticism, which was not covered by any of the other rules. It is specific (and we have a thread going up soon that will discuss it in further detail). We already had rules that covered Mods and individual Flaming of users (which are different from continued criticism of Staff). Thus, it was combined with Website Criticism (making for a remaining total of 18 Rules). We don't mind some critiquing, but if you take things to a point, it will be in violation of the rule. It has been happening to Staff a lot lately, and as a result of much discussion with different forms of workers here, this was the best course of action.

You shouldn't have anything to worry about if you aren't someone who causes trouble. :)

I don't feel threatened by the new rule since I haven't been banned or even warned for my previous behavior. Unless of course the purpose of that new rule is to fix a loophole that prevented mods from moderating people for whatever reason they fancy, for example by formulating said new rule as vague as possible and leave interpretation completely up to the "victim" itself. What could go wrong.

I guess we'll find out whenever the first person is banned on the grounds of the new rule.

You don't?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Like I noted, it shouldn’t be of any concern if you aren’t someone known to give Staff a hard time and if we wanted to Moderate for “whatever reason we fancy”, we wouldn’t have a need for rules at all. So, stop worrying about it.

Giving the mods a hard time is vague. If what you mean is something akin to the kind of PMs I'd sometimes send after being moderated out of frustration, mostly toxic and non constructive, then I could agree this isn't ok and should be acted upon. But mods shouldn't consider themselves above criticism or infallible, and constructive criticism, even seemingly harsh ones, shouldn't just be swept aside with a moderation on the plaintiff's part without any consideration.

I've decided to step down from my position as moderator.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to shape the community over the years, hopefully for the better, but I feel like it's time for me to step aside. I'd like to thank Smeags and Axumblade in particular for the support and guidance offered to me over the years. More thanks go to various other members of staff for doing such a good job despite years of problems within the community, persistent problems with the site itself (come back TalonMan) and a real lack of gratitude for the work you do. It's a thankless job and the community in general should ease off in giving staff a hard time.

I'm still going to stick around the forums, but I'll let my last post as a moderator leave you with a top tip to stay out of trouble.

Don't be a dick.

Thanks for all the time and energy you invested here to make vgchartz what it is today.

The relative calm and Nice environment on here is due to that investment, thanks for making a place to talk about game news and sales which doesn't descend to YouTube comments insults! (Too regularly)

Don't be going too far from here, as a mod or member you're a positive influence on the forums.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Sad to see ye step down. If it mean anything, your moderations hurt the most. Cause I respect ye. Cheers Carl.
