Yeah, using the stores list of games is a bit silly, especially when there's a perfectly good list on Wikipedia that doesn't include ps2 games, beta's, demo's, arcade etc.
Xbox One - 993
PS4 - 1295

is the 140+ multiplatforms X1 have over PS4 mostly PC games or what?
An sure if we do an Kant analysis the total will be very very far from 95% to the point that would be more accurate to say the share 50% of the library than 95%

Gonna shoot this reply at both of you, but there was a reason I cited PlayStations own store and microsofts own store DIRECTLY instead of relying on Wikipedia; Wikipedia is not by any stretch of the imagination accurate and can't be counted on as reliable. Simply skimming through the list you will see that each also includes upcoming games or games without release dates, taking For Honor or Crackdown 3 as an example. For that reason alone those lists are worthless to me, but you can be sure that each are riddled with other errors as well.

Noworry... Store or Wikipedia... the data is so divergent from 95% that either prove there isn't a shred of truth in it.

Does that mean you think I'm being socratic? You know, in the way I expressed my opinion?

Nope. Just that perhaps you were under the notion that you would have to change a console much faster than you first assumed but haven't realized that what you are doing (not buying the mid-gen) is basically fulfilling your expectation of 7year gen for the console (unless PS5 is lurking in the corner)
