Indie PC + X1  digital only games.

Though that should be listed as "console exclusive". The issue is mistakes, 88 Heroes for example is a multiplat that's on the XB1 list but not on the PS4 list. Either the PS4 has a ton of multiplats missing, or the XB1 list has some console exclusives listed as mutliplat by mistake.

I see, that is quite a lot of games. But wouldn't those be console exclusives?

Yeah, using the stores list of games is a bit silly, especially when there's a perfectly good list on Wikipedia that doesn't include ps2 games, beta's, demo's, arcade etc.

Xbox One - 993

PS4 - 1295

According to Wikipedia, 38.2% of games on PS4 are Exclusive/Console Exclusive. So yeah numerically they certainly don't share anywhere near 95% of their libraries.

XBO

Exclusive = 33

Console exclusive = 119

Multiplatform = 826

Total = 993

PS4

Exclusive = 114

Console exclusive = 381

Timed = 35

Multiplatform = 688

Total = 1295

is the 140+ multiplatforms X1 have over PS4 mostly PC games or what?

An sure if we do an Kant analysis the total will be very very far from 95% to the point that would be more accurate to say the share 50% of the library than 95%

Gonna shoot this reply at both of you, but there was a reason I cited PlayStations own store and microsofts own store DIRECTLY instead of relying on Wikipedia; Wikipedia is not by any stretch of the imagination accurate and can't be counted on as reliable. Simply skimming through the list you will see that each also includes upcoming games or games without release dates, taking For Honor or Crackdown 3 as an example. For that reason alone those lists are worthless to me, but you can be sure that each are riddled with other errors as well.

I appreciate this, is this meant to be comprehensive including digital only? If so you are missing some from PS4.

95% of the X1 library are games that don't matter to me at all.

Noworry... Store or Wikipedia... the data is so divergent from 95% that either prove there isn't a shred of truth in it.

Nope. Just that perhaps you were under the notion that you would have to change a console much faster than you first assumed but haven't realized that what you are doing (not buying the mid-gen) is basically fulfilling your expectation of 7year gen for the console (unless PS5 is lurking in the corner)

Wow there are a ton of those Arcade Archive games. Over 60.

But I think you're missing the huge effect some games in this list of over 1,400 PS4 games has on sales. I mean, where would PS4 stand without "Call of Duty Endowment"? Would we have even seen a PS4Pro if not for "Battleborn Open Beta"? What about the "World War Toons" beta? I like "Zombie Campaign DLC", which is listed as its own game but is actually DLC for a different game. You don't think "Uno Trial" added to some of the PS4 sales? Well, I doubt you could say that about "Headset Companion" with a straight face.

Also, if this PS4 list includes these PS2/3 classics you can rebuy for PS4, surely we should include the hundreds of BC games you can buy on the Xbox store that aren't on this list of games? Surely that gets us closer to this 95% number, people.

Surely we should include PSNow, which includes 450+ games specifically from PS3 in such a scenario. Although, I don't think we should count that OR bc as they are literally just games from last gen not specifically enhanced or republished this time around. For simplicity Remasters/remakes/reboots should be counted however.

One would think so as it comes out a whole year later.
