Ehhhh I still think it is too early into the month to call/say anything for either the PS4 or the XB1. Still got that holiday feel going and a few sales here and there. Once the actual prices for both set in I think we will see how well both will do going forward.
Still nice to see the PS4 so high up! And I am wondering what will become the default bundle for the XB1.

It did but why did it fail? You can't simply say because Steam box failed, anything else like will also fail. With that logic cosoles are a failure because Wii U failed. Handhelds are a failure because PSV failed.

For one thing it was more expensive, like the scorpio will be.
But it was also bad precieved value (ei. payed alot, and could get versions weaker than a PS4).
It had no exclusives, you couldnt play on any old pc you had instead.
Basically it was jugded based on how much better it would be than a normal PC, because the software ecosystem was the same as a PC's.
It didnt meet up to what a PC can do.
MS's scorpio will atleast not have most of those issues.

The biggest issue is that it is too expensive. ANd the argument that it will give you the advantages of PC gaming will all mostly on deaf ears as the PC market is not particularly interested since they have, ya know, a PC. And console gamers mostly clearly don't care or they would be on PC. And mods and other conveniences are showing up on consoles now making the argument even less compelling.

Yeah and the Steam box wasn't pushed or hardly marketed so basically is was a console targeted at the PC crowd which was always destined to fail. No PC gamer will buy a Steam box, the price and lack of awareness will eliminate any interst from the casual crowd and the hardcore consle gamers will stick with their platform of choice.

It would have made zero differnce.
Consumers are too smart these days, and it was kinda obvious this was a turd.... them polishing it up, would just have been them throwing away money.

Yeeeeah that worked for the launch of the Kinect but after that it fell off a cliff into Hell's subbasement. The thing was an active deterent with the Xbone.
