Bruh, I DARE YOU to tell me a better gaming library than Splatoon remaster, Pokken Remaster, Mario Kart 8 remaster, Xenoblade Chronicles Remaster X, Pokemon Stars/Eclipse/"We're back at it with the third version rip off" 3ds Remaster. Oh, and Skyward Sword remastered. Hoping Federation Force is at least a download on Eshop.

.... oh crap, Almost forgot about Pokemon Rumble U!

Better than those games? Wii U had those games. And Bayo 2 and Hyrule Warriors and SM3DW and DKCTF and will have 3 Zelda games by the time Switch comes out (Unless BotW is delayed)

You can't use remastered past gen games as your ammo for a new console. All it does is show that the library is padded with fast cheap and easy remasters to look bigger than it is.

It was sarcasm dude XD

You know, it's funny. There are three reasons I can see Bethesda porting Skyrim Remastered to the Switch, and I honestly think ALL OF THEM are most likely true :

1. It isn't as demanding as Fallout 4.

2. It's their most popular game, and they're using it to test the waters on the Switch.

3. It's their most hyped game right now. Which is honestly pathetic...but true. Fallout 4 disappointed so many people, and it got virtually NO HYPE whatsoever after release. It's like it just vanished off the face of the earth a month or two after it's release. I didn't even know the DLC for it came out, let alone LITERALLY ALL OF THE DLC PLANNED. Wow...it was really forgotten. Almost everyone still talks about Skyrim.

Anyone remember Bethesda mocking the Wii U, saying they won't support the Switch if it isn't near the XB1 in terms of power?

If that's the case, why would they even give anything to the Switch, let alone old ports just for the heck of it? Bethesda is the last developer that would flip like that, especially for Nintendo.

That is not what they said.
They said they look at each title individually, and see if the hardware (and audience) of the console is a fit for what they are trying to do.
It was the interviewer who gave Xbox One's performance as an example. To which Bethesda said "then we would consider it". He would have said the same if the interviewer gave PS4 Pro as an example.

Here are the actual quotes:

1.) “It’s definitely something we will look at; and our philosophy is that we will put our games out on any format that supports the games as we envisage and make them. If the NX fits that from a technical standpoint, and fits the game that a developer in our stable is making, I don’t see why we would not put it out on NX. But it’s too early to say, ‘we’ll definitely be putting games out or not.’ Like with mobile, we want to have the right fit for the right formats.”

2.) [So if NX is announced in the next few weeks and is as powerful as an Xbox One or higher, then…]

"Then it will absolutely be something that we consider. Okay… let’s say they come out and say tomorrow it does X, Y, and Z. Well, Dishonored 2 is way down the road, it’s not in the conversation. But anything that is in development, I think we’d take a look at and see if technically does it line up with what they’re doing?"

Keep in mind that the game in question here is probably Skyrim Remastered. An enhanced port of a Gen 7 game.
If the Switch can handle it, they would consider it. That does not mean that they plan on making their next current gen title work on Switch.

Thanks for the info. Most of the quotes I saw were incomplete, so I decided to make an assumption

Yeah, I see many people saying things to that effect here, on youtube, etc, without reading the actual interview. It's definitely spread like wildfire. Hopefully we can do what we can to inform members here. If you would edit what I said into your op, or remove that point of yours with a disclaimer (shortened down version of what I said if you don't want it clogging up space) etc, that would be helpful.

I'll just copy paste it all. You don't mind, right?

I get that it's weak compared to XB1 and PS4, but:

1) How much power can we give up when we convert 1080p games to 720p?

2) There's no confirmation for the leaks- perhaps it's weaker(pray it isn't) or stronger.

3) If it's so weak, why is there so much support?

1. 1080p has 2.25 times the number of pixels 720p has, so that should give some idea. It's significant, but probably not that big.

2. Like someone said, Digital Foundry seems pretty trustworthy. True, it's not confirmed, but I have relatively much trust in Digital Foundry.

3. Why wouldn't everyone want it to succeed, and who says it won't succeed? Most likely a successful Switch can only increase software sales, and publishers want to be on Nintendo's good side and capable of developing efficiently for Switch. Also, Switch development ought to be cheaper due to weaker specs (and consequently lower expectations) (mind you, it could also be somewhat costly for games that try to push the hardware really, really hard, but I'd expect it to still be cheaper than PS4/XB1 development).

Read directly above your comment. That's the problem.

Hmm? I can't see any problems with what OdinHades said.

If is soo weak, and so low clock setup, why would it need a cooler fan?(or even the passive cooling system while not docked)
Tablets with higher pressets and clocks dont need that.

Some parts of the world hit 40'C/104'F or more.
Nintendo may have made a cost cutting measure by removing metal heatsinks in favor of a cheaper fan.

The fan may also only engage under rare extreme instances.

The fan may not be in retail units.

And... It might be the only fan Nintendo has left. (Joking. :P)

If a developer is building a game for a High-End PC/Playstation 4 and Xbox One, the costs are going to be pretty static as there isn't massive reworking of assets, most of the time it's just Framerate/Resolution or both being the only main difference.

Porting those same games to the Switch will cost money as assets need to be reworked in order to get the game operational for the slower hardware.

If the switch used a full-blown Tegra, that wouldn't be as much of a concern, it would have been "good enough". - But when it's running at such hampered clock rates, then that hampers things significantly and will drive up the cost of downgrading games to run on it.

Now if the Switch is the leed platform for a game and a developer decides to port it to the Xbox One/Playstation 4 and improve the graphics whilst they are at it, then of course development costs will also increase.

Anyone who is bitching about power and hardware and all that silly stuff didn't want to get the console in the first place. People are just looking for stuff to complain about, because haters gonna hate. Anyone who is that desperate for power and grfxx gets a PC anyways. My rig runs circles around the PS4 Pro.

Then there's the "But wut about teh 3rds?!" folks. Who are also just bitching about nothing really. Of course you won't find the same games as on PS4 and X1 on the Switch, that was never the point of the console. Nintendo chose a different path. Nobody is forced to like that, but it's stupid to cry about that they aren't making a new PlayStation, we already have 2 of those. Nintendo Switch will have more than enough 3rds. Did the 3DS lack third Party Titles? I can't complain.

Ok, lastly there are the people who are saying "I want just one console, so I NEED Third Party titles!" Fair enough, go get yourself a PC or a PlayStation then, seems like the better option for you. What's the point in bitching about Switch? Most people are able to use two platforms just fine. But if you really only want one or can afford just one, just get whatever the hell suits your personal preference best. Variety is actually a good thing, you know. With that there is something for everybody.

If I would care about power I would have never gotten a PS4 or X1. What use should I have even for the Pro or Scorpio when my GTX 1080 with 9 Teraflops is declassifying those consoles? Well, the use is in the games. I really like some of the PS4 titles running on dat piss-poor 1.8 TF hardware. Not once did I care about the graphics. I have absolutely no doubt I will also enjoy many titles on the Switch, despite it's power that barely surpasses a potato.

At the end of the day, it should be all about the games. Hardware doesn't matter so much. If the games are good, I'll get any hardware you throw at me. Hell, despite me owning that monster of a 1080, you know what I do most of the time? I play on my laptop with a Geforce GTX 960M. Really poor GPU in comparison, just barely stronger than the X1. But I still prefer it many times because of convenience. Then again, I only have my super-fast PC because of my job, it was never really intended for playing games. But there's also nothing stopping me from using it for that. =P

Thankyou!
