VR is bombing, no one cares anymore

Around the Network

Do people honestly think the switch has enough power to run VR?, either it has the power and the resolutions terrible (useless) or it has the resolution and not enough power (useless).

And yet PSVR is sold out everywhere...

The Switch will have plenty of power to run mobile VR games. I have the Gear VR and tbere are some really nice games on the platform. There is one game, a VR cart racer that has online play and is quite fun. Power sliding around a corner gives you that roller coaster stomach feel. The graphics are cartoony but nice. The Switch VR could easily do some Mario Kart VR with no problems.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

Your expectations for the switch's game visual quality can't be that high if you are comparing it to mobile vr titles..

As a huge fan of VR, I suppose I wish that we the case but I went Christmas shopping yesterday and I saw at least one everywhere I went.

Kids under 12 are not supposed to use VR because their eyes aren't fully developed yet and there's no conclusion studies if it affects them negatively or not.

A friend of mine bought one for the family and had to return it a few days later because he only found out after he'd bought it.

By all means point me to an online store that has them in stock at original retail price, especially in Europe/Japan , Europe are offering preorders that won't be fullfilled till January at some stores, as far as March in others, Japan has been out of stock everywhere with no word of when stock will be available.

GameStop in US has none online and claims non in store within 100 miles of severe states I tried, Amazon US has none in stock at original price, only scalper prices.

It's not an argument and I'm not trying to beat you. I bought mine on day one.

I hope it's selling well because I think it's amazing and it's the future. I worry that the hype isn't there,  They're in Statesboro Ga at MSRP if you want one, though.

In a word,
NO
the screen is too low of a resolution, so it will look terrible and the machine is way underpowered, we're talking about a machine with a fraction of the power of the PS4

Underpowered how?

Sony and others throw most of their console specs at luxurious visual flourises. Graphically the switch could provide tons of aesthetically pleasing 90/120fps, 1080p VR experiences if they wanted to. If anyone could bring VR into the mainstream it would be Nintendo, they've always had a strong understand of functionality and fun over just boasting about specs.

Sounds optional for me too, but I would buy the head thing to try, if it is cheap...

Yeah, it sounds good for people that want to try new things out. But personally I'd rather wait 5~10 years until the tech is actually good enough to take advantage of it. I think consoles are still too weak to handle VR properly and 99% of big devs aren't developing big titles from scratch for it. Kinect made me learn not to jump on new tech/fever until it's actually well made/used.

Thanks for that, I will stop and think about what you said. I was thinking about buying a PSVR as soon as I can afford it, but I have being burned before many times: the Kinect 2.0, the MOVE, the WiiU in a whole. I think I will follow your motto and stay calm till 2018, about the Switch and the PSVR.
