If they make their system just powerful enough to get some third party games, but make it to weak to play all third party games, they end up selling more of their own software on their system. With less competition from other developers, Nintendo makes more money and sells more games. | So Nintendo's strategy should be pissing off even more third party developers so that their own games have less competition? Royalties for third party sales are unimportant? Building up a hardware base faster with a more diverse library of software and less gaming droughts would make them less money?

This is why Nintendo is different from Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo is a full on game developer where Sony and Microsoft (now referred to as S&M
) are hardware manufacturers only. Yes they both have some studios making games but they are nothing compared to Nintendo when it comes to first party game output. No one can argue (except on this site
) that when Nintendo makes hardware, the system is designed for Nintendo's developers and not designed for what third party developers want. When S&M make hardware they design it for third-party developers. Most all of the games on S&M's systems are third-party games. Nintendo, being a full on developer themselves, make hardware for their developers first and foremost. Nintendo makes hardware to sell Nintendo software.
Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!
