TL;DR: Halo 5 has sold (according to my estimations) 6 million copies physically and digitally. It also has a population of around 51k as of this writing (concurrent players).

We know this...

343 claims that it has better player retention than Reach and Halo 4, so that makes sense.
Here are the concurrent players counts a year after release, as best as I can remember:
Halo 3: 100k
Halo 5: 51k
Halo Reach: 25k
Halo 4: 10k

And this alone says a lot. The game shouldn't have a RR this high unless it sold a decent number. I see how Halo 4 was an exception (to everything, since the game sold slightly less than three with a community many times larger) and Halo Reach does adhere to the rule. If so, the five million estimate doesn't seem off.

Frankie isn't Microsoft pr. He works for 343. Go ahead and say that's shipped. You have no idea.

In fairness, neither party has any idea. What you can deduce, unless specified, "sold" usually means shipped.

I hate the idea that we have to adhere to a no one knows why rule.

He made one post in that thread and then ignored all replies asking if he meant sold-through or shipped. That's telling on its own.
And you're right I don't know for sure but you're the one who brought up that number so it's you're responsability to tell the real story. And saying that he meant sold-through isn't the real story. Especially if you then call out VGC for being undertracked lol

Err, the guy doesn't post period. He literally broke protocol by saying this and then went silent for like forever.
