Sexy.
OT: After the success of Splatoon, and with people like Miyamoto who has clearly lost his... luster, this is great to hear.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
Good. There's hope for Nintendo yet. For all the amazing things Miyamoto has given us over the last 30+ years, he's also responsible for giving us the likes of Wii Music, Nintendoland and Starfox Wii U. No thank you.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
This is more than likely a very good thing. The aging leadership of a Japan dominated company need to change.
I work in a high-tech company that strives on bottom-up ideas that can then be driven to something amazing by the more experienced leadership. It works wonders and we're an amazing company due to this culture.
Nintendo needs this badly. The company is very much Japan culture of top-down driven entirely by Japan. It needs to reverse this mentality and gather the best ideas from the bottom-up. Let the top focus on diving deep into those ideas with their experienced questions and together go forward with amazing implementations.
Hopefully that is the NS. I know I'm excited for it and unlike the WiiU, I've had many conversations with others who share this excitement.

I don't agree with ithe your assessment of Nintendo.
For the last 5 to 7 years, Nintendo has been generally giving the reigns to younger talent. This is mostly because Miyamoto wants to work on small projects and prototypes. Read some of the old Iwata Asks interviews, there's definitely gleanings on this when they discuss dev process.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
"Old" Nintendo became obsessed with crappy hardware and selling everything based around a gimmick.
The difference between Splatoon and Miyamoto trying desperately to justify dual screen console gaming with Star Fox 0 speak volumes.
Hopefully Switch does away with the Nintendo policy of insisting on badly outdated hardware too, seems like it might.

I think the WiiU prove that time frame to be incorrect. Granted, I could be wrong, but I feel like WiiU is a clear example of the older gen pushing company direction. (obviously not all their ideas were bad as exemplified in DS / Wii)
I see the finalization of NS, BotW and hopefully new content to be showing on Jan 12th demonstrating a new path.

Sounds good, need some good ideas that will work well rather than gimmicks aimed for children
