The best is to put your OS and softwares, apps on a SSD. 128 is enough, but 256 is good too.
Everything else on an HDD, games etc. But I think you already know that

Putting everything on an SSD is stupid.

Yes, I'm planning to get a 256 GB SSD for quite some time. The 1 TB units (I have 4 X 1 TB HDD) are expensive as hell.

I agree with the op. Customization is a close second.

4 ≈ One

Mods for me.

I mainly console due to games, but if they were on PC with mods that would be my preference.

SSD are starting to be really cheap now. The prices got cut in half in a year.

In my experience the PS4 is way faster overall than gaming on the PC, the OS is way faster than windows especially in the cold boot. Games run a lot faster unless you are using an SSD on the PC, and the PS4 Pro has even faster loading times. You can put the games into sleep mode and every one of them will be instantly in the status you left it if you turn on the console, you can install games and play them at the same time etc.

Damn this gif is nice lol

including those reasons pricing and the ability to record without limitations and mods is the reason why I got into PC gaming.

Really all I'd need is a better CPU for videoe diting, using something like Shadowplay with Vegas and I'll be able to do some LP's. Too bad my ISP's upload speed is crap on the island, hence why I never bother with uploading anything outside of images, otherwise I'd be doing my own LP's and Streams by now.

lol I need a overhaul of a upgrade - my Gaming desktop despite a upgrade in 2012 with its gpu is 7 years old overall.

cant wait to build my new PC next year - but I will do that after I move into my new house that is currently being built.

You gonna love that feeling of getting a fresh new rig I tell you what =P.

I'm aiming for 1440p next year, but I decided not to completely overhaul my current build, but instead get a new CPU/GPU, a RAM kit and an extra SSD/HDD as well as a new monitor.

No, it's not paying for the same game more then once, because pc got no gen.

Havent decided whether I should go 4k or not. I'm focusing on getting 60+ FPS and focusing on getting a minimum of 1080p, so I might follow the same route.

Though I really dont have much of a budget as of now.

I'm not really familiar but you can play the games on a SSD/SSHD and then have the footage recorded to a HDD without any loss of performance right?

1440p is starting to look like the middle ground and sweet spot for me. It's not as expensive as 4k and it offers that bit better resolution than 1080p. I'm also aiming for that new CPU/GPU combo to go with the res upgrade in order to keep the 60fps as much as possible (though I won't be afraid to turn down some settings if the need arises).

Not entirely sure about that last part as I've never really done any gmaeplay recordings before. What I plan on doing in the future is to have another smaller build of a PC with an i7 to help with rendering and have that setup capture and render what comes from the main rig. For me this means I'm able to do what I want on the main rig without anyything being taken up, while also ahving the smaller build on the side to capture and then edit/upload at any time. That idea won't come into play until my ISP either improves the upload speed or I find another coutnry to move to and do LP's from there.
