Your argument has totally lost me.

In this thread. Which is based on AMAZON rankings, there is a clear winner for the month. Based on amazon threads, there is no reason to disregard such a positional difference cause well.... this is an amazon thread. You are basically talking up there not being that much of a difference between 2nd and 20th because right next to 20th teher is also 21st in favour of the XB1. So you want us to consider the relevance of 2 positions yet ignore that of 19 places.

You are making it sound like CGI said the PS4 is going to win the month of december simply due to their position on amazon. Whereas its clear CGI said that there is a clear winner for the month as far as AMAZON is concerned. Now none of this should have neded to be pointed out being that this is an amazon thread.

Now speaking outside amazon, and in the general scheme of things, are you aware that cyber monday (which sony is rumored to have won) is counted along with the month of december?

When did i disregard the positions? I did the opposite of that by saying that we don't know how big the gap is in favor of the PS4 because yes PS4 is higher but like i said we dont know by how much. Also i said that the PS4 or XB1 could be winning but there is no decisive or clear winner due to us not knowing how big the gap is.

Yeah i addressed this already since PS4 is rumored to win Cyber Monday it could take the month.

Ive seen the gap being discussed before on the thread, and I see nothing wrong with bringing up the gap because like I've said countless times we dont know the gap between each console so we cant say if there is a clear or deccsive winner or not. 

The bolded part is you saying CGI is saying PS4 is a winner and stating it as fact.

Funny thing is, as far as this threa is concerned.... this Amazon thread. That statement is actually a fact. PS4 is the winner as far as Amazon is concerned. Never befre has the substance between positions on an amazon thread been in question because..... you know; its just impossible to know that kinda information. Which makes what you are doing (especially if you are basing it all on that little detail) unnecesarily argumentative.

So as far as Amazon is conerned, PS4 is the clear winner for the month of december.

NPD could very well say something different. But this isn't an NPD thread.

Lol no it isnt. All i said there was that he was impulsing saying Amazon had a clear and decisive winner and i later went on to explain that the PS4 or XB1 could be winning meaning its not decisive.

Well like i said there was a "rumored" 100k gap with pro preorders  and the PS4 pro raning more in Amazon last month. But this month on Amazon there is no Pro preorders and the pro is a lot lower while the Xbox one Minecraft is a lot higher on Amazon. So you can also say the Xbox one could be winning based on this and that the gap could be lower so saying PS4 is winning isnt really a fact when we use Amazon.

This is a thread thats sorta linked to an NPD thread. Also this is US Amazon thread to give us a look at what console is winning NPD.

We can say Amazon doesn't have a clear winner that doesn't need to be repeated.

So pointing out flaws in using Amazon is now ignoring them? Like i said yes the PS4 is higher up so if the gap is big its winning but if the gap is small the other XB1S could make up for the gap. Also im not taking your advice because Amazon is still pretty trustworthy but saying that we have a clear winner is completely wrong when you don't know the numbers. Also i don't "honor" websites but if a website like Amazon have proven to be reliable I will put more trust into them. 

Ill say this one more time you can continue to ignore it if you wish but Amazon had a similar ranking last month but this month Minecraft bundle is a lot higher but Pro is also a lot lower and there are not preorders and the PS4 only won by 100k last month so Amazon could be showing a Xbox heading or a PS4 heading but we dont know because its not that clear and if it was so clear that a console was winning what would be the point of discussing Amazon if we have a clear winner? But again unless you know the gap it is not a fact that Amazon is showing a clear or decisive winner.

Well isn't that the point of an argument to get your point across and to hear other arguments?  Well if you believe there is nothing left to discuss then so be it.

Sorry to stir up all this debate. CGI, I am a Sony guy. So I get frustrated when I see them make confusingly dumb decisions. And their lack of bundles/bundle variety and complete lack of love shown to the biggest annual franchise in existence this Christmas just blows my mind. They should feel priviliged that activision switched partnerships from MS to Sony, but the way Sony handled this holiday season with COD shows them taking the partnership for granted and not showing COD/Activision the love it deserves. MS, on the other hand, went out of its way every year to make a special edition COD Xbox console and bundle. And look at all they did for battlefield 1:  Crazy amount of advertising and MULTIPLE Battlefield 1 bundle options, including at least one special edition console. THAT's how you treat a partner. And ontop of all this, MS had multiple other bundle options, including the vital "younger ages" bundle in its minecraft bundle, which you know sold amazing at Walmart and target where Xbox has always outsold PS4 and where many/most parents do their shopping for their kids. Anyways, I'll go thru my reasons for my original statement that XBO will beat PS4 handily in the US in December.

Amazon has consistently been a retailer where PS4 outsells xbo, yet we can't even say with confidence that PS4 outsold XBO this December based on the current monthly standings, since XBO sits at both #20 AND #22, and we have no idea what the gap is between #2 where PS4 sits and #20 where the first XBO sits. If #2 represented 200,000 unit sales, #20 represented 110,000 unit sales, and #22 represented 100,000 unit sales, XBO would be the winner. 

3. Amazon represents a small fraction of video game sales. I forget the exact fraction, but the percentage of sales each major retailer makes up, last time I saw it, is something like:  Gamestop 30%; Walmart 27%; Best Buy ?, target ?, and Amazon <10%. 

Amazon and Gamestop this generation have tended to swing towards PS4, but Walmart and target have pretty consistently sold more XBO than PS4. Last Christmas, PS4 DOMINATED the Amazon charts, and even the Gamestop charts, and it either lost npd or the sales were close. This year, Amazon was a much closer race. I didn't follow Gamestop as closely this year, but last time I looked I was surprised at how close of a race it was between ps4 and XBO. Again, things were much different last year. 

4. XBO S:  other than November, every month since the XBO S released, XBO has beaten PS4. This includes the month the PS4 slim was released! Which is unheard of for a Sony "slim" console. And even in the month of November, where the PS4 pro released and had months of preorders, Sony STILL only beat XBO by 100k for the month in the US.
