Take-Two: Nintendo “making a great effort to support third-party developers”, “optimistic” about Switch

During the Credit Suisse 2016 Annual Technology Conference today, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff commented on a wide variety of topics. A brief portion of his talk involved Nintendo and the company’s upcoming platform Switch.

Slatoff said: “The folks at Nintendo are making a great effort to support third-party developers, we’re very optimistic on the Switch though we are not announcing anything specific today.”

Take-Two collaborated with Nintendo on Switch’s announcement video. NBA 2K was showcased on the new system, and it’s likely to be released at some point in the future.

If they're making "great efforts" then we should see "great results", but my guess is this'll be a lot like the Wii U ... some major third party games, but many missing. Like where's GTA Take 2? Why can't that be there on day 1?

hmm more PR talk or is ninty on to something with Switch? Role on january

Let's hope this means we'll get an acceptable third party support not only during launch window, but for the entire console life.

Inb4 Yeah we will see, they said the same thing about the wii u

If you mean this, then would you please bring a GTA V port duting the first year, Take2? Portable GTA will sell well enough, regardless of the game being 3 years old.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

They better be.

Hopefully thats more than PR talk. But seeing all the news surrounding The Switch, ill be optimistic about this.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

No not really. They were fairly critical of Wii U.

Having Mario + Zelda + Pokemon in the 1st year will definitely help these third parties stay on board.

Pocky Lover Boy!
