Yeah, they do have a lot of IPs to work with, but it would still be nice to have a more new ones be made, even if they only make a few new ones. Splatoon was a new one that's really great and could def use some more expanding.

I'm tired of all the Marios, Zeldas and Cirbys.

If I were to buy a Ninty console again, it'd have to be for something new like Splatoon (don't care for the genre, but I give them credit for a good new IP) or Xenoblade (seems interesting and if ever get the chance, I'll play it).

Sure, the fans are happy with what it's been offering, but they aren't enough to make it successful on their own.

Are we considering every single game "universe" a separate IP, even if there was only ever one game made in said universe? If so, someone should count Sega IPs, as damn near every single game on Master System was a Sega property, and there have been plenty since.

I sincerely doubt the combined force of my brain and Wikipedia have missed that many Nintendo IP's....

Though that is only counting Super Mario, Mario Kart and Mario Party for all Mario games... so 39 definitely isn't total if you count them.

I've searched on Wikipedia and I've counted 34 IPs on this page and is still missing some like Sin & Punishment, Eternal Darkness, Excitebike, Ballon Fight, StarTropics, WaveRace, Battle Clash, Fossil Fighters, Ice Climbers and others. But yeah, they have less than Sony.

Their eshop IPs are probably missing too like Pushmo, Ketzal's Corridors, Dillon's Rolling Western...  Or are those included too?  Just checked for Pushmo and it didn't show.

punchout can be pretty badass. Heck, they could make some of these franchises into shows if they wanted.

 

Nintendo seriously has potential. instead of just shoving all the cash into a bank, they should expand their company and so more.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.
