By and large ports, Remasters, and Re-releases get a bad rep. Some of it has to do with the perceived greed of the publisher. For example Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever, and one of my personal favorites, but it seems like Capcom won't be satisfied until it is on every platform. On the other hand there are some awesome games that haven't been upgraded in a long time and are hard to get your hands on.

For me the two most frustrating are Metal Gear Solid 1 and Metal Gear Solid 4. I played MGS 2 and 3 on the VITA through the HD Collection and ever since I have wanted to play the entire series. However I hear the original PS version of MGS1 has not aged well and I am keen to play it with better visuals. Of course there is the Twin Snakes version for the Gamecube but it's hard to find and I want trophies dammit.

MGS4 is easier to find. I still have my PS3 and may buy it someday but it too could use a remaster to update the graphics and streamline the weird loading system. Also it is amazing that this game is still exclusive to the PS3 after alk these years. It's time to spread the love. I know we hate Konami right now but I would be super happy if these games got good ports to current platforms.

So what games do you think desperately need to updated and re-released?

A remaster of Paper Mario TTYD needs to happen ASAP!

I want a re-release of the Megaman Zero Collection, with ZX and ZX Advent added for good measure. Capcom barely pushed the collection when it first came out, and if they are not going to do any new Megaman games, at least make sure the best ones get a re-release! For the 3DS or the Switch, don't care, but make it!

Jak and Daxter receiving a similar treatment as the reboot of R&C, by a smaller Sony studio. So that one day the fourth installment of the series can be made. Or a reboot of Spyro, you know the good ones before skylander.

Shin Megami Tensei NINE. It only ever came out on the OG Xbox in Japan. It looked interesting, I want to see a re-release of that. Or a rerelease of SMTII

Pepsi Man.

Pretty much all the good PS1 titles could use the 'PS2 on PS4' treatment plus; things start to look fairly gross on nicer TVs.

I say leave the past in the past. It's sad that after FF VII Remastered people will play that and think they know what FF VII was. Make sequels, entice people to go back and play older games (even if on emu).

Bully, Uncharted 4, Paper Mario TTYD.
