Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why is Xbox One Now Outselling The PS4?

Because people are realizing its the better console. Sony is desperate to move those consoles.

Last Guardian is out next month, Gravity Rush 2 January, Horizon February.

they should have had something else for the holidays, but at least they still release games all year round. MS releasing everything at once doesn't make them less lazy for the first 9 months of every year. Even more so considering what MS do release is the same old franchises over and over again. Now that is lazy

No, I'm talking this year. Not 2017. What exactly has PS released this year? Uncharted 4 ("same old franchise over and over again" times 4). What's lazy continuing to delays games, show off games at E3 which aren't going to release ANYTIME soon. Hell, Last Guardian is FINALLY releasing. Congrats. After how many years? They've gone complacent. Their focus is on VR. Now that's what I call lazy.

At least MS released some new IPs, fixed a ton of their reception, and have given the people what they asked for in Backwards compatibility. They aren't the market leaders, and they've responded in reaction to that, like Carl said, they deserve it.

Well Sony has had Uncharted 4, Rachet and Clank, Mlb the show, Street fighter 5 and No mans Sky this year with The last Guardian coming. WHile MS only has had Gears 4, Forza Horizon 3, quantum Break and Recore with timed multiplat Dead Rising 4 coming. So if you look at this list in my opinion Sony has Quantity and quality over MS. Also Sony has released more new IPs this generation than MS has. Same goes with last years lineup if we take away Rise of the tomb raider. I am actually surpised MS couldnt lock down full dead rising 4 exclusivity, this might show that sales matter a little.

MS is delaying games as well and announces games way to early. Crackdown 3 and Scalebound were announced E3 2014 and looks like they will be released 3+ years later. Also those got delayed, because they said those are 2016 titles. Quantum Break was announced 3 years before realease and got delayed from 2015 to 2016. Fable Legends got cancelled and Project Spark closed. Phantom dust remake announced at 2014 and got cancelled, now just porting original game with same OG xbox graphics.

Yes The Last Guardian is FINALLY coming, but at least it is coming.

Also its crazy how many exclusives and console exclusive games PS4 has for first 3 months 2017, while MS yet again lacks first half of the season with only Halo Wars 2 at the moment.

cuz in the end quality allways wins

If the x1 outsells ps4 in November, that is when I will be like wowz since sony launched the ps4 pro

I don't really think it even has to outsell the PS4 in November to be sucessful it's more so that the PS4 needs to show big numbers. With the Pro launching and all the pre-orders the PS4 has suposed to of lost this past 9 weeks due to people waiting for the Pro Sony really should be expecting a 500k+ minimum win over Xbox in November and if Xbox can stay within 300k of the PS4 sales I'd class it as an indirect win for the green team.

Not really, Sony could sell 200K PS4pros in NA in November. and that could have been all the stock they had for launch in NA.

Glad that came out. Thanks

Cause Sony doesn't have 3rd party exclusives at all, nope only MS. This tired narative you continue to spew is old Celador. Again what has Sony released this year? You failed to mention. I never said MS didn't announce games early both do, but you only throw shade at one side to push this inconsistent narrative of yours that only MS has "tired old sequels" when the only big exclusive I'm remembering is Uncharted 4. I repeat 4. Not exactly a new exclusive/new Ip is it?

Yes new IPs and new games (like this year) that won't release ANY time soon at next years E3 (just like Sony's E3 this past year). And cool, I'm glad you're enjoying playing sales, you can play that on your PS4 Pro at 6 frames higher and native 4K. Fun

This thread is about sales, so bringing them up isn't strange. Maybe it just hurts because Xbox is being curbstomped?

Wasn't a great year for PS4 either, never said it was. Had Ratchet & Clank (which SOny actually own) and Street Fighter V. Pretty meh. But the future releases coming to PS4 embarrass MS. Halo and Forza 6. I repeat, fucking 6!!

Trust me, it doesn't hurt me at all. MS owns pretty much all their games they released this year except like DR4. What Gran Turismo are we at again? That's an opinion. Not much impressing me on Sony's first party lineup to be hoenst. You can feel, you do, the same way about MS.

Sony did a great deal for NMS, most of which was providing the title a very large platform for promotion only for the title to then release to overwhelmingly negative reception. The debacle makes me question if any sort of quality control was exercised by Sony prior to its release on its console. One would think Sony would have considering how much they promoted NMS but apparently not since the game crashes on the PS4. I've seen it for myself secondhand.

Could it be Sony saw the hype and knew this game could move PS4s, game quality be damned? I'd hate to think so.

Again, that game was also released on PC. Sony having a marketing deal with an independent studio didn't mean they are responsible for how the game turns out. It just doesn't work that way. And again. The game wlso released on PC.

These things don't single-handedly determine sales trends of course but they do one thing that needed to happen and that's improve Microsoft's and XBox's image and at times hurt PlayStation's. With an improved image, XBox marketing may then prove more effective in the future.

We can see evidence of it in this thread even: users giving XBox props for improving itself.

I'll give you this one. MS has done a lot to improve their image, but I don't think it's been at the expense of Sony or that Sony has in turn been fucking up. MS has been correcting their mistakes. Sony has been doing what they habe always been doing.

They'll probably hope developing for both platforms is simple enough. Yes there will be more PlayStations out in the wild by the time the Scorpio releases but there will be more XBoxes out too.

Yes there will, but history has shown that the console that has the most sales is the one that developers focus on the most. Just look at the PS2 vs Xbox. The differences between the PS4pro and scorpio would be even less obvious as those between the PS2 and Xbox. And as it stands the PS4 already has a very commanding lead over the XB1. By March next year we could very well be talking about an over 2:1global lead over the XB1. That's nothing to scoff at. And that much of a lead gives sony more power than most seem to notice. MS saving grace so far this gen is that sony has door some reason decided to not be as aggressive as they were back in the time of the PS2.

What if Sony priced the PS4s at $199? Or if when the scorpio launches the PS4pro drops to $299. Renee what a cheaper console did the gen?

The way it was described in a previous thread by user d21lewis ( http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=222079&page=1 ) certainly made it sound like a pain, comparatively speaking. These inconveniences just do more of what I described previously: engender threads and discussions that hurt PlayStation's image and improve XBox's.

External HDD support is no doubt intimately more convenient. But that's not a deal breaker. Especially when u consider that the PS4 is designed for you to be able to swap out your HDD. You can't even do that on the XB1 without voiding your warranty. And in truth, the whole HDD thing is only complicated under very specific situations.

If you had a 500GB PS4 and chose to upgrade to a 1TB PS4pro, then the whole process is as painless as connecting both consoles together. The issue is when you have already upgraded your PS4 HDD to say 2TB, then want to remove the 1TB HDD in the PS4pro and replace it with your old 2TB HDD. That's when things get complicated.

"soon" .... I need to see what november + december look like before I could answear that.

If PS4 takes those, the answear may just be never.

Where is this meme when we need it ?

It wont for much longer. November and December belong to Sony. The best selling console usually wins black friday and the pro just dropped. Microsoft had the "S" console drop and that helped their sales along with Gears 4.

Because in the end, quality always shines through. Xbox One S became the official home of 4K when it included 4k bluray, 4k streaming, 4k gaming, on a faster more reliable network.
