As someone who has lived in that country for years, rape laws are definitely a problem. Otherwise, the actual place is really not bad for tourists. The same rules don't apply to tourists as they do for residents, and local citizens usually get away with doing whatever they want.

There are tons of weeks British expats living in dubai and have been for about a decade. you don't need to be extra careful or anymore careful. it's not like you won't very raped, mugged, harmed in any other country. 

The difference comes with laws. like travelling to any country it is good to know what the laws are and what to stay away from. I had a Sikh friend who was going to move to the Dominican Republic. he fiance moved first, got robbed and killed for a motorbike by a local cartel and the police did nothing but giving them a telling of for flashing cash which they weren't. after everything that family went through it was the least helpful thing. 

Having said that,this doesn't mean the UAE should be using crazy made up laws.

Um try being a women and going to those countries and then say they are not different from any other country lol

There is no denial by me. It's the same crap you get in the christian faith.  I don't remember any sermon when I was a kid about killing people, cutting off their foreskins and giving them as a gift but its in the old testament.

When people believe this nonsense its not much of a stretch for them to be selective about what they are going to believe and what they deny. They have already denied reality so they can shape their reality however they want. None of the abrahamic religions are religions of peace.  

The koran is surely closer to the extremist views its just modern thinking muslims like most people want to live in peace and have children that outlive them and don't die in horrible wars.  So they take a more casual approach to religion or simply deny the darkness of it.

Left wing socialist political correctness in Europe and America has granted women and minority groups more freedom but that has came at a huge cost to society. High debt levels, high tax rates, high unemployment rates come with the socialist agenda that is pushed in the western world. Middle East has low debt levels, low tax rates, low unemployment rates and strong capitalist economies with conservative laws.

I think not, some people are that ignorant.

Perhaps because we don't know who are the people and that independent of who they are their behavior is despicable... but encarcerating someone as having non-marital sex when the person was raped is completely bonkers, but you preffer to concentrate on the unknow guys and the woman possibly be lying.

I condemn the act of rape, but I'm not going condemn anyone or an entire country without any factual evidence okay. I hope I made myself clear on that.

So why did Dubai arrest the woman after she reported the rape instead of investigating her claim first and then, arrest her if she was lying? You should not be condoning a country that, in your words, condemn a woman without any factual evidence.
