Hyper Light Drifter was nominated. I didn't see that coming. That game seemed to be flying a bit under the radar, and it seemed to me like no one really loved it as much as I did.

I don't know, for me, ZTD had the weakest narrative/story in the series. 999 definitely had the worst dialogue, but it ended up having the best overall story. ZTD was just all over the place, and I really hated the fragments, which really broke up the story.
Uncharted 4 wasn't amazing or anything narrative-wise, but the characters are all wonderful and the pirate story was fun.

I don't think Pokemon made it in time for nominations :/
Which is why they NEED to move this to right before or right after New Years.

I don't love it but I liked it, is pretty good. Glad it had 2 nominations but the lack of Owlboy makes me sad.
I don't care what the other nominees are, but anything that lists Pokémon GO as a nominee for the best mobile game award simply can't be taken seriously. It is (was) a nice phenomenon, but it was and still is a terrible game. No one would care about it if it wasn't a Pokémon game.

True.
Looking at this list reminds me of why I bought so few games in 2016.

Agreed

I mean, not like this is big enough to make them move it
Just surprised pokemon go is on here...sure, it changed a lot on how we view mobile games, but does it seriously deserve nominations?

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.
