You also should credit Wii Sports for selling consumers on the motion control concept. It was a brilliant move to package the game with the Wii.

Yes I already know that, but the initial sales, the ones on launch, was due to TP. Reggie said and considering the sales of the game, it was obvious.

 

Mario does not have the same power. People can wait to play a new Mario game, even if the past games have sold a trillion copies. People cannot wait to play Zelda and fans are willing to pay full price and buy new hardware.

Makes sense, if they want to have a launch line-up as big as possible they won't be able to skip the Mario franchise.

I would prefer Zelda over 3D Mario, but better to have one than none for launch

And they will most likely want to capitalise probably bigger interest for Mario after Super Mario Run launch, just look at sales of Pokemon games after Pokemon Go launch.

I find it surprising.

The day before the Switch reveal trailer, Tom Phillips from Eurogamer posted this on twitter:

I find it kind of hard to believe that a Nintendo game that wasn't running well on September can be ready to launch for March.

Thats what I also think! And Zelda already got its own e3 spotlight.... surely they don't want another one? XD
