Time for hint 40 -

This is a run and gun game where you run forward and shoot everything on screen. You can also ride cool mechs and get different weapon upgrades, announced by a silly sounding announcer. Also, you fight the aliens in this one.

Metal Slug 2/X

Fun in form of game.

Oh, that one did have zombies, but it's not 2 x )

#41: This game depicted Detroit as a city much more different than today, yet with a myriad of social problems.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution?

That is the correct answer!

Not X as well? It's kinda a remake from 2.

Oh wait, now I think I finally get it, due to you saying it's sort of related to mine. I've literally been thinking what yours could be for hours.

It's SimCity 2000.

That had ports to PS and N64 with a version for N64DD, and a spin-off of it released in 2000, namely The Sims! I would never have connected those dots if it wasn't for your final comment lol. It's great and I played it countless hours myself, still even have saves from the '90s, but it's not in my list. SC3000 and 4 are instead.

Exactly!

i think that I mix SC3000 and 2000 in my mind, but I'm pretty sure I played 2000 more, so that it's the one I have in my list.

I should give it an honourable mention at the end this year at least, it is afterall the game that got me into the genre. Or maybe that's actually the next one on my list...

#40. Yeah, arguably the most influential game of the 7th gen.

I would like to hear that argument

Alright, alright... I know Ninjabread Man was a silly answer. I meant to say Wii Music.

#41 Crash Bandicoot: Warped

The third game in the series that established Naughty Dog as one of the best developers in the world. I've played through the game several times, although it has been a while since the last time as my copy of the game eventually broke. Regardless, this is easily one of my favourite 3D platformers, and in my opinion the best game in the series.

Hint for #40:

A PS3 sequel to an underrated PS2 cult classic with a completely different name. This game continues on from the 5th ending of the original game, while there was also another, direct sequel to it on the PS2 that continued from its 1st ending.
