Yea but my PC isn't in my living room and the cable (as well as my phone cable) isn't very long either. While there are certainly ways to help the situation, I just wished they increased the battery life all together in this revision to get close or match its main competitor.

I see. I do keep a power outlet close to my couch because of cellphone and notebook needing juice so I don't have this issue.

On the battery life, it certainly would be appreciated, but how much would add to the cost?

On the controller jack, probably X1 copied the DS4 to offer more comfort for its users.

Not sure but both the wiiU pro and x1 has really good battery life so I don't think it should be that much. The controller itself is basically the same as the regular ds4 with some slight improvements so the parts should cost less by now than what they initally costed.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Well, the controller is quite cheap to make, probably 10-15 bucks.

And battery life of X1 controller you are talking about the AA or the rechargable set that you buy separated?

Rechargable ones.

Aren't those quite expensive?

Not really. In Canada, you can get them in a bundle with the controller for $80

https://www.amazon.ca/Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Black-Newest/dp/B00YJJ0P1C/ref=sr_1_4?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1478632654&sr=1-4&keywords=xbox%2Bone%2Bcontroller&th=1

By comparison, the list price of just a DS4 controller is $75

https://www.amazon.ca/DualShock-Jet-Black-Controller-PlayStation/dp/B01LBH9ILW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478632627&sr=8-1&keywords=dualshock%2B4&th=1

If you do buy them seperatly, then yea, it would be more expensive but back then, I had no choice. If I were to buy a new controller, I would just buy the bundle.

I see. Yes, sony really screwed on the battery life. Doesn't bother me because of the workaround, but people shouldn't have to correct Sony mistakes to enjoy the product.

Yeaa! But oh well. At the end of the day, it is just a minor complaint. The controller itself is great though and feels wonderful!
