Good News when CoD sells worse, there are lots of games that get overshadowed/ extremely low sales due to most people buying just CoD or FIFA, when said games sell worse it means that there's more money to be spent on better titles !

When said games sell worse, most people buying COD or Fifa buy their alternatives or don't buy anything at all. You'll not get these people to buy Nintendo games, indie titles, or JRPG's.

COD selling worse means less money rolling around in the industry, and that is bad.

Finally somebody gets it. Having behemots like CoD is actually good for the health of the industry. Same is true for GTA, FIFA or Warcraft. Just becaue there is a vocal minority who doesnt like them, it doesnt mean that they are bad games, by any means.

I dont know. Reviews arent stellar. I think that digital download is also a big part this year. Its definitely a decline, but on a global scale it will be by far the biggest shooter released this year, so yeah...

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum really? by FAR ?

First of all, at this point is likely Battlefield 1 will sell better. You talk about digital sales, but that's the strong part of Battlefield 1 considering the series is HUGE on PC, while COD is not. So, if you include digital sales, Battlefield 1 is super close (if not biggest?) than COD IW first week in UK. The sales you see first week (328k COD, 259k BF1) are retail only, with digital BF1 and COD are likely at the exatly same level.

And in anyway, whater will wins, no fucking way COD will be BY FAR the biggest game. IF will beat Battlefield 1, will be by an insignificant margin.

Again that think of Battlefield outselling Cod ? Why would Battlefield have more digital sales than Cod if they had the remaster deal ? That is still about 25-30% of difference in retail release.

EA expects Battlefield to sell a little less than 10 millions of units.  If Infinit warfare sells 50% less  of what  Black Ops 3 (I think that such drop is unlikely to happen) It would still sell  12.5-13 millions at retail. That based on Vgchartz numbers.

Titanfall 2 wasn't a success, and The Division is a RPG game. It is possible that Call of Duty  will be both the biggest shooter of the year and the 3 biggest.

In the UK it might be closer, but on a global scale.... lets dont kid ourselves. No matter how good BF1 is, CoD will slaughter it in the US. Even Ghost had legs, this game will have them as well EA pretty much sacrificed Titanfall 2 to eat away from the CoD pie this year. The difference is that the next year CoD will come back and do even bigger numbers. Just as we had fall in interest in several CoD's the same happened here as well.

OT: I havent bought a CoD since World at War, so yeah, Im not a huge fan of the series. Neither did I buy a Battlefield for that matter so which wins means jack shit for me.

Dude can you tell me what are you talking about? "Let's not kid in USA COD will slaughter it", lol what? How you even know that, the fact as for now is that COD in UK bombed hard compared to the previus games. There is no reason for believe this won't happen in USA as well.

And before NPD numbers are out and show a notable difference in COD favour (if that's happen, of course) again, NPD will be retail only while digital sales is a huge Battlefield victory.

Sorry, no matter what, whatever wins, will be a close victory. COD is not big as it used to be, at least not this year.

Dude you seriusly have not read my comment if that is what you are sayign.

AGAIN, is a fact that COD is NOT big on PC, while Battlefield is. That's why digital sales for Battlefield will be for sure higher, what's so hard to understand?

And lol at EA expecting less than 10 million units, this was the Titanfall prediction. EA expect to sell over 15 million unit of Battlefield 1 by end of March 2017, this is what EA expect, and there is a chance to do even better than that. They estimated 13 million units for Battlefront, and they sold 14 million in the end.

I think that the problem(the reason why those franchises are hated) are the annual releases. I think that if those games don't had annual releases people would not hate so much.

By the logic of some people who says that Cod is being replaced or dying, Battlefield 1 should have launched with a record release, but it sold  over 2/3 of what infinite sold which is 1/2 of what Black ops 3 sold which is  over 1/3 of what the best Cod did.  People are simply not buying other games.

Well to be fair it's still a better situation: this year in particular I think the devs who worked on B1 or Titanfall 2 should get the "recognition" they deserve since they made a game better than IW but honestly any year there are better alternatives, say in 2015 Uncharted 4 instead of BO3 . I'm shure that if CoD or FIFA weren't a thing people would still be buying games, there's plenty of games that give the same if not more satisfraction the FIFA/CoD userbase are looking for in those titles, say for example Rocket League or Splatoon.

How well Battlefield sold on PC ? Don't they say that a game sells digitally 30% of what it did at retail ?

Call of duty sold over 1.350 millions on Steam. Even if Battlefield is 4-5 times more popular(which is hard since not even GTA sold that much). It would not be enough to  surpass the difference of their retail releases.

And I mixed the numbers. They said that the expectation is 15 millions but they are being conservative.

Have you guys played the game...? Not just watched a trailer or played a beta, but actually played the game?

I don't think it's fair to judge whether good sales/scores are deserved without trying it yourself.

I think this also one of the first years in a looong time that there are no CoD bundles for the holiday season.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
