" During the latest financial briefing, Capcom’s CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto has touched upon the company’s Nintendo Switch support. During the Q&A session, Tsujimoto stated that multiplatform development will be possible for the new Nintendo console, but that’s not what Capcom would like to do, as they seek to offer something that will differ from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One titles. Tsujimoto also added that the company is currently in an internal review phase regarding content and features that might be offered in Switch titles, so there are no additional details on the matter as of now."

Hmm, does that mean more games like Zack & Wiki? if so, I don't really mind.

This is annoying I think.

1) he states, what I've been saying, that "multiplatform development will be possible for the new Nintendo console". This means they could use relatively little resources and put the same game on NS allowing for little risk to making profit.

2) He then states they want to make NS versions special. That is what scares me. This is what EA attempted to do with their cartoony bullshit sports games.

For fuck sake 3rd parties, don't try to be Nintendo. Let Nintendo be Nintendo, they are much better at it anyways. Just take your damn game and offer it on the console. That is what someone with an NS console will want, the opportunity to play the same game without requiring another console.

Looks like developers want me to buy two consoles because I don't know better if i had the option to only own one lol.

The best thing for Switch is to get the exact same 3rd party games with the exact same content as the PS4 and Xbox One. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional or don't know gaming history.

True. The Wii didnt do well at all...

Nearly every port for the Wii U was subpar garbage. They threw out old games that were horribly optimized to "test" the waters of reception and then pulled out completely when the games bombed. If someone actually spent time, money and effort on a proper port, it may have done better. But the Wii U had horrible brand recognition and marketing and came at the wrong time, so it was an uphill battle from the start.

People are delusional if they think that Nintendo Switch will do well without proper AAA 3rd party support, not just side projects and leftovers. I think we may be lucky enough to get it since the major 3D engines are supported and that makes porting so much easier.

and you think the situation is gonna be different now how? Its not like the Switch will run the games just as well on the PS4 xbone anyway. And those Wii U ports werent bad, hell PS3 had some worse ports and late games and those still did well. A main COD game not even selling half a mil because it didnt get DLC (most people dont buy DLC anyway) is nonsense

There we some garbage ports (mainly EA) but I 99.99% agree with all you said. Most efforts put out on WiiU were pretty good efforts by 3rd parties for what the Wii U could do.

COD my friend and I still play it on the Wii U when he visits me from another state. Why? because it has the gamepad ad we can sit and chat and have our own screens whilst we play against each other.

The small frame rate issues (which even PS4 had) or worst gfx or missing DLC never even bothered us.

Aka expect our 3ds titles in NS.

Some ppl are expecting too much from this statement

Well that would mean MH will stay Nintendo exclusive.

Wii was a cultural hit. Nintendo would need to catch lightning in a bottle a second time to do that. And I don't think that a 720p tablet in 2016 will suddenly become the thing that every one wants.

I guess we`ll find out soon enough.

so basically you're advocating for another nieche console to play pretty much only Nintendo 1st party games and that's basically it?

they might as well just go 3rd party at that point.  paying $200 (it won't ever be 200 anywhere near launch, I don't even know where you're getting this number from) for the 'previlege' of being able to play Nintendo games and still need to own another console for everything else is exactly why they keep selling less and less home consoles as time goes by.

the Wii sold amazingly hardware wise, but in terms of software was absolutely terrible due to the fact of millions of people purchasing one and being content with wii sports for the entire generation. It was a novelty item that happened to appear at the right time. It's like chasing lightning for Nintendo to think they're going to get another hit like that and still be able to sustain it.

on your point on pokemon... i can't believe you're trying to compare that to the biggest game franchise in the world, GTA. I'm not sure where you're living to believe people are wanting a new pokemon over a new GTA lol

I don't care at all about GTA but I want Pokemon games.

Street Fighter? Haha. This is Capcom on a Nintendo home console.

It's not as though Brawl provides a built in fighter audience or that Street Fighter 2 with a SNES pad defined Street Fighter.

No, no, no, you'll take your Titsudoku v Capcom 2 and that's the end of it.

It isn't a home console, Nintendo can call it that all they want, but it's portable gaming tablet and everyone can see that very plainly.

SSFIV was more a "lol" since the 3DS already has it. I wouldn't mind another port though.
